Marvel And ABC Release Official Description For Two-Part AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Finale; "S.O.S."

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. still hasn't been renewed for a third season, and we still don't know how the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron will impact that. Regardless, it sounds like everything is going to come to a head in the finale, and you can get all the details right here...

We already know Hunter and Bobbi get back together and leave. I also think it's interesting that Deathlok isn't in these episodes, since he is their go to hero.

Hmm, sounds extremely familiar. Still pumped, regardless.

If the show gets canned, I hope they bring Daisy, Ward, and Mockingbird to the big screen.

Mockingbird is getting a spin-off, and AoS is certain to be renewed. But yes, I would love to see all 3 on the big screen, especially Ward.

Is it possible that the show has a planned ending for Season 2? And that the new Mockingbird show is more of a successor?

Just seems weird that they've announced a spin-off but not a season 3 renewal. But they didn't announce renewal for season 2 until May, so still time, of course. Just a thought, I guess.

Shield and Agent Carter are both very likely to be renewed, so I'd really like to see next season maybe deal with past and present versions of the Invaders. Marvel has to eventually do something with that Jim Hammond easter egg, right.

NBC just put the full first season of Constantine on their website to gauge interest before deciding on its' future.

IMO the AoU crossover seems like it will be one of the weakier episodes this season. And that'll be a testament to how much better this show has gotten. It's now stronger when it's not reliant on events from movies and doing its own world-building.

I think the backend of Flash has been heavily serialized, considering the Professor Wells/Reverse Flash revelations.

@nibs

It's standard for ABC to not do their renewals until May. They'll likely announce it just before the season finale like last year. They seem to use it as marketing for a lot of their shows.

What if Lincoln Campbell ends up being Speedball. They both have energy powers and look very similar. What if Fran Kanz auditioned before they chose Luke Mitchell and he was studying Robbie Baldwin. It wouldn't be the first time a character name was changed.

@MercwithMouth

I can't help but feel like Ward would be underutilized/under appreciated in the movies, though. He's had so much character development in the show and the most compelling evolution of his character was his turn. The uninformed public will just see him as a charming villian with no understanding of why he's so great.

How awesome would it be if all future Marvel villains got miniseries before their debuts. Malekith and Ronan definitely would've benefitted.

@YeezusWept

I agree completely. Ward works best as a long-form villain. He has so much backstory, and so much motive to be who he is. Plus, Brett Dalton is a seriously gifted actor. He's got that "shade of grey" down between good and evil, and he plays it perfectly.

And yeah, both Malekith and Ronan could've used some backstory. Especially Ronan, he's such a great character. I hope that Thanos can revive him in some way.

Here is some information for those who seem to be confused.
ABC and Marvel announced a planned "Spin-Off" for Agents of SHIELD. A network does not announce a spin-off for a show that they plan to cancel, they simply announce the new show.
ABC rarely announce renewals before their upfronts in May. This year that will be May 14th. ABC will announce the renewal for SHIELD and they will probably announce season 3 and 4 because they would be close to syndication when they complete season 3. The only way that ABC does not renew is if the showrunners decide that they want to end it. SHIELD has been a success for ABC, being the scripted show that brings in a male audience.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's pure formality that season 3 hasn't officially been greenlit yet, I have ZERO doubt that it will be. It may be only getting average ratings at best, but it's got the advantage of most other hour-longs on networks that it's part of a much larger, absurdly profitable project to its parent company. Agents Of Shield isn't exactly "make or break it"-important to tell the whole MCU story, but it's a very helpful, complimentary piece to have. That's why, short of it starting to get the lowest numbers of like all current TV everywhere, it will continue to air.
