In a recent interview, Ming-Na Wen reveals one of the main reasons she loves to play her character (Melinda May) on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "They [her kids] love the show," She then told what her kid said to her at San Diego Comic Con 2013 after meeting various members of the cast, "He was like, 'Mom! I didn't know you could fly a plane. That is so cool!" Vin diesel's children refers to the many trees they see as his brothers and sisters, so I'm pretty sure it's cool for all the parents to be able to tell their kid they're in a Marvel film.
As for her thoughts on the actual series she says that it's great for the fans that they have added new characters/ powers on the series, "Fans have been dying for, to have some characters with superpowers."
