RATINGS: AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Improves, Slight Dip For THE FLASH

The ratings for last night's TV are in, and after a pretty large decline in viewers last week, the CW's The Flash has dipped another small amount. Meanwhile, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D enjoyed a slight spike..but of course, the Avengers: AOU clip will have helped.

The Flash

TV Line have posted the figures for last night's episodes of both ABC's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the CW's The Flash. The latter dipped 6 and 13 percent, with approximately 3.4 million viewers (1.3 demo rating), but Marvel's TV series scored slightly higher numbers than last week with 4.5 million total viewers and a 1.7 demo rating. This is obviously good news for the show (which has struggled with series lows recently), but I think given the Avengers: Age Of Ultron sneak peak that was announced as airing afterwards, Marvel/ABC may have expected a bigger spike. You can get the figures for the rest of Tuesday night's TV at the link below.

It's not even the first time the ratings go up but I'll just sit back and enjoy all the comments bashing AoS, just so the same guys in other article say DC fans don't talk bad about Marvel

I think the World Series is hurting both shows on the +3 The Flash got an increase of 1.7 million views on last weeks episode. So when DVR numbers come out it will go up. Also the +7 numbers came in on the series premiere The Flash premiere becomes the CW's most watched telecast ever.

If the spike was just AoU related, they did the right thing by putting it with a great episode. Hopefully more folks give the show a chance. Really enjoying this season.

The show has gotten so much better that right now they need people to watch an episode on accident to start watching regularly. This was also during Game 6 of the World Series. So It might go up for next week.

Last night's AOS was beyond epic, can't believe how great it was. Flash was a little weak if you ask me. I did however enjoy the train sequence where he saved all the passengers.

@Bekss, I think you might be overestimating how many people actually watch the World Series. I'm sure a few people who would normally watch Arrow or Flash watched TWS but I doubt that it is seriously impacting the ratings of these shows. The viewership of TWS has been falling off drastically in recent years and this year might reach an all time low.
Pasto
Pasto - 10/29/2014, 10:38 AM
People still watch The World Series?

Gotham is doing really well when it comes to reception. It seems to be getting that "crime drama/mystery" group interested that usually wouldn't be interested in comic book shows.
Pasto

Gotham is an awful show. I'm still baffled that people can honestly say they enjoy that mess. It makes me think they are setting their standards really really low.
blackandyellow
blackandyellow - 10/29/2014, 10:42 AM
Hobo, I like Gotham more than Arrow and Flash. I'm not a huge Batman fan, so I don't really care if they play with the mythology of the characters. It seems like the only ones who really hate the show are the diehard Batman purists.
