Despite Disney taking steps that could be viewed as moving away from physical media, the company announced today plans to release the first seasons of two of its Marvel Disney+ shows on 4K UHD and Blu-ray. Collector's Editions of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Season 1 and Moon Knight Season 1 are releasing on April 30, 2024.

Both Collector's Editions will come with a 4K HUD and Blu-ray Steelbook along with brand new box art designed by artist Attila Szarka and collectible concept art cards. Bonus features such as featurettes, deleted scenes and more will also be included on the disc.

The Falcon and The Winter Solider: The Complete First Season 4K UHD and Blu-ray Details

Debuting on Disney+ back in March 2021, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was the second television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The six-episode season is set six months after Sam Wilson was handed the mantle of Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame. It also helps set the stage for Captain America: Brave New World, which will be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.

Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities — and patience.

BONUS FEATURES

Featurette:

  • Cap's Shield: Sometimes a shield isn’t just a shield. Anthony Mackie and the creative team behind The Falcon and the Winter Soldier discuss what Captain America’s iconic accessory ultimately represents -- along with the numerous challenges of capturing the cumbersome prop in action once cameras started rolling.

Gag Reel: Watch the hilarious outtakes with cast and crew

Deleted Scenes:

  • Flight Lesson: Sam and Rhodey have a heart to heart and bond over flying
  • Still Not Funny: Bucky brings a treat to Sam's family gathering

Documentary:

  • Assembled: The Making of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Embark on the making of this high-flying, globe-trotting action series with the cast and crew in Assembled: The Making of Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was met with a generally positive reception from critics and fans alike. The first season sits at an 85% Average Critics' score with an 82% Average Audience Score.

Moon Knight: The Complete First Season 4K UHD and Blu-ray Details

Moon Knight is another miniseries that was released directly on Disney+, debuting in March 2022. The series stars Oscar Isaac (Star Wars) as Marc Spector, a mercenary suffering from dissociative identity disorder, who is drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods.

When Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), a mild-mannered gift shop employee, becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life, he discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

BONUS FEATURES

Featurette:

  • Egyptology: Join Egyptologist Ramy Romany, Oscar Isaac and more, as they further explore the ancient Egyptian mythology that helped inspire the Moon Knight series.

Documentary:

  • Assembled: The Making of Moon Knight: Pull back the curtain with Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and the rest of the cast and crew in ASSEMBLED as they reveal how MOON KNIGHT was brought to life.

Deleted Scenes:

  • Don't Go There: While walking in the streets of Egypt, Layla questions Marc's state of mind and motivations.
  • Breaking the Cycle: Arthur delivers a prompting speech to his crew, urging them to take action alongside him.

Gag Reel: Watch some hilarious outtakes on set with the cast and crew.

Moon Knight was even better received by critics and fans, scoring 86% on the Average Tomatometer and a whopping 89% Average Audience Score. Marvel Studios has not confirmed a second season of Moon Knight, nor revealed their plans for the character in any future movies, but there are plenty of rumors suggesting we haven't seen the last of the Marc Spector.

Both The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: The Complete First Season and Moon Knight: The Complete First Season will be released on April 30, 2024. They will be available to pre-order from March 12, 2024.

@JobinJ - Some Steelbooks are far from worthless, some are quite collectible and valuable.

I collect physical media because if any of the streaming services decide to remove or censor any of the movies and shows I like, I can still watch them.

STOP BUYING THIS CRAP kids. Save your money. It's on streaming. You don't need a stupid box with DVDs to sit on your bookshelf for the rest of your like. Take the $60 and invest it.

@JobinJ - Idk if you've played video games, but eventually what's going to happen is that the service will go down and the only way to watch this will be through physical media or pirating it. Not saying now, but preserving physical media is so important.
Wilke589
Wilke589 - 3/5/2024, 12:43 PM
@JobinJ - Any movie or tv series can disappear from streaming at literally any time. Even a "Netflix Original" like Stranger Things or "Disney Plus Original" like The Mandalorian, it's already happened countless times.

I was just in the middle of a classic 90's show on Peacock, the show was even produced by NBC and Peacock is owned by NBC Universal, so logically it should be on Peacock forever, right? Except one random day a studio exec decided the streaming numbers weren't high enough, and since they have to pay Cast & Crew residuals to keep it on their streaming service (even though they own the show) they decided it wasn't financially viable enough and the show disappeared from the internet completely. This then forced me to go to eBay and buy the Complete Series DVD to finish it, which I can now do anytime I want with zero worry of it ever disappearing out of nowhere one random day.
JobinJ
JobinJ - 3/5/2024, 1:45 PM
@Wilke589 - well if fear is your motivator, then you should just buy every single goddamn DVD you ever see in your whole entire life. Just spend all your money on that if that’s the case.
Wilke589
Wilke589 - 3/5/2024, 2:03 PM
@JobinJ - LOL where did I remotely say I buy every DVD known to man out of fear that they all "might" disappear one day?

I either buy what I *want* to buy because it's a top-tier favorite movie (which will also come with countless hours of special features content that you'll never see on streaming) or I buy what I *need* to for the exact reason I listed in my original comment.

Some people don't want the needless headache of subscribing to HBO Max to see their favourite movie only to find out that the streaming rights just lapsed and now they have to go watch it over on Paramount Plus and pay all over again.

It's all *really* not rocket science. There's literally zero need for you to on your laughable rage-rant cluelessly acting as if it's some type of black and white situation where everyone pays one single super cheap monthly subscription and in return gets EVERY movie EVER made forever!

ummmmmmmm......NO.
