It's no secret at this stage that Vincent D'Ofrio's Wilson Fisk is running for New York City Mayor in Daredevil: Born Again, though we're still not sure how the Kingpin of Crime will pull that off...or what his master plan is.
According to Murphy's Multiverse, the Marvel Studios TV series will see the Kingpin of Crime embark on an anti-vigilante agenda that sees him target the Big Apple's street-level superheroes.
One of Matt Murdock's clients will be among them, as will Daredevil, The Punisher, and even Spider-Man! That goes some way in explaining those Spider-Man 4 rumours as we've previously heard the Man Without Fear and wall-crawler will team up to take the villain down.
Talking of Frank Castle, the site has some intel on that front too.
Yes, those rumours about The Punisher targeting a group of racist cops who have misappropriated his logo are correct. That idea has already proven to be somewhat controversial, and it's somewhat surprising (and perhaps long overdue) to see Marvel Studios touch on a potentially hot-button political topic in that way.
Daredevil: Born Again could be a game-changer for street-level superheroes in the MCU, particularly as vigilantes are something the series has rarely touched on; after all, most heroes have no secret identities in this shared world!
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson have all been cast in undisclosed roles.
Michael Cuesta has been tapped to helm the first episode of the series, while Clark Johnson, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd are among those also set to lend their directing talents to the Disney+ series.
A premiere date hasn't been revealed, but we're optimistic that Daredevil: Born Again will arrive on Disney+ next year despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
