Earlier today, a photo from the set of Daredevil: Born Again did the rounds online featuring Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk alongside a mysterious actor who Deadline has now identified as Carnival Row's Arty Froushan.
The trade reports that Froushan will have a "major" role in the Disney+ series, and while they don't have any specifics on his character, we do know that he'll be named "Harry."
We can't think of any prominent characters from the Daredevil comics who go by that name, but there's a chance it's an alias to conceal his real identity. Based on the set snap, we can assume this Harry is an ally of Fisk's, and possibly involved in his mayoral campaign.
Joining D'Onofrio, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock) and Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle) will be new cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Sandrine Holt.
Most of the new characters remain under wraps, but we recently learned that Holt will play The Kingpin's wife, Vanessa Fisk.
The show will be loosely based on the '80s Marvel Comics series of the same name by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli, but is not expected to be an overly faithful adaptation. Despite some significant changes to the story, "Daredevil versus Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, remains the focal point."
Matt Corman and Chris Ord are on board as writers and executive producers. No premiere date has been announced, but the show is expected to bow in the spring of 2024.
