Earlier today, a photo from the set of Daredevil: Born Again did the rounds online featuring Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk alongside a mysterious actor who Deadline has now identified as Carnival Row's Arty Froushan.

The trade reports that Froushan will have a "major" role in the Disney+ series, and while they don't have any specifics on his character, we do know that he'll be named "Harry."

We can't think of any prominent characters from the Daredevil comics who go by that name, but there's a chance it's an alias to conceal his real identity. Based on the set snap, we can assume this Harry is an ally of Fisk's, and possibly involved in his mayoral campaign.

Joining D'Onofrio, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock) and Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle) will be new cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Sandrine Holt.

Most of the new characters remain under wraps, but we recently learned that Holt will play The Kingpin's wife, Vanessa Fisk.

The show will be loosely based on the '80s Marvel Comics series of the same name by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli, but is not expected to be an overly faithful adaptation. Despite some significant changes to the story, "Daredevil versus Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, remains the focal point."

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are on board as writers and executive producers. No premiere date has been announced, but the show is expected to bow in the spring of 2024.

@Ryguy88 - Bernthal was always too short for me.. I think for someone without superpowers he should at least have size on his side.

@Mrtoke - @Matchesz - he needs to look like he could fight 3 guys at once at least. Maybe not tall but at least built. The comics version isnt huge, but bigger than average 6' 200lb

No idea who he is.

Then again considering they are going ahead with some recasting as we've seen with Vanessa, what could be the chances that he's the actor taking over the role of Wesley?

Guess for now is that he's Fisk's campaign manager.

Norman already confirmed the Osborne family isn't in the mcu.

@Origame - well, he couldn't find them. Doesn't mean they don't exist
Origame

@bkmeijer1 - I mean, he was specifically looking for oscorp. So if they do exist they're very different people. So it's like, what's the point?
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/28/2023, 4:41 AM
@Origame - could still do a lot with that. Could always just start with Norman as Iron Patriot and the director of HAMMER if they do Dark Reign. Point being that it sets itself apart from previous on-screen incarnations.
Origame
Origame - 3/28/2023, 5:01 AM
@bkmeijer1 - ...by being essentially a different character. Comic Norman had to develop to get there. And part of it was we knew who Norman was so it immediately raised suspicion over this. Your hypothetical Norman would just be another nick fury type.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/28/2023, 5:53 AM
@Origame - true. But seeing him go through the Goblin cycle first again might just feel repetitive. And the movies aren't comics, so they can just invent a new development for Norman to get there.

And it would still raise suspicion, as we already met an evil variant
Motherlicker
Motherlicker - 3/28/2023, 11:48 AM
@bkmeijer1 - I like the sound of that. Start off with Norman being Iron Patriot, in a position of power with a lot of influence, and once he's outed as evil or defeated he can spiral into the goblin persona.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/28/2023, 2:35 PM
@Motherlicker - yeah, that could work as well. Having him try and look for other forms of power after he lost his is something I can definitely see him do

Could just be a character made up for the show. But I could see him or Michael being Richard Fisk.
Repian
Repian - 3/28/2023, 2:56 AM
@LeonNova - I like the idea of Richard Fisk as his father's campaign manager. He wants to expand Wilson's borders and bring the family name into politics.

So, Richard is killed by The Punisher and Wilson goes berserk.
