DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Vincent D'Onofrio Is Confident Kingpin Will "Kick Spider-Man's A**" In MCU

Daredevil: Born Again star Vincent D'Onofrio has once again teased a clash between the Kingpin of Crime and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he's pretty confident Wilson Fisk will win!

Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio has made no secret of the fact he wants to pit his Kingpin of Crime against Spider-Man, and reiterated those hopes during a convention appearance this weekend.

However, this time, he's not shying away from sharing who he believes the victor will be.

"I have a strong feeling, and I've said this since I started the Netflix show, that eventually I'm going to kick Spider-Man's ass," D'Onofrio told fans at GalaxyCon, making it clear the wall-crawler is no match for his villain. Whether this eventually happens remains to be seen, but it would be a great moment for Marvel fans.

The Netflix version of Kingpin was formidable, but not superpowered. That made sense in the grounded version of the MCU Marvel Television delivered, but Hawkeye pointed to some huge changes being made to the villain.

Between his fight with Kate Bishop and the fact he tore a car door off its hinges like it was nothing, Fisk has either taken the Super Soldier Serum or is now just as strong as his comic book counterpart.

The Kingpin was a Spider-Man villain before becoming one of Daredevil's foes, so a clash makes sense, anyway. We also can't forget that there have previously been rumblings about Fisk taking centre stage in Spider-Man 4, a movie that will reportedly see the web-slinger team up with the Man Without Fear.

Marvel Studios may be exploring the Multiverse in Phase 5, but there's still room for grounded stories and it's about time we follow some street-level superheroes for a change. A Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up? That sounds pretty amazing to us.

Daredevil: Born Again is still expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2024.

Been re-watching the series, amazing how good it is. Hopefully they can keep the same feeling for the Disney+ shows.

That’s going to be interesting to see especially since Kingpin got beat by a teenaged rookie Kate Bishop,

@TyrantBossMedia - Kate beating Fisk was a combo of dumb luck and just really convenient trick arrows. Realistically, he'd kick Kate to the curb.

OptimusCrime - 3/27/2023, 10:13 AM
@TyrantBossMedia - Not really
Got hit by a car.
Shot with an arrow
Survived an explosion.
Survived a gunshot.

He was never beaten by Kate.

@TyrantBossMedia - You guys always put in extra work to try and take that win out of context as if Kate wasn’t getting her ass beat before she quite literally set off every trick arrow in her arsenal.

@TyrantBossMedia - wait, a new teenage female character completed a ridiculous feat? Idonotbelieveit

@PlusUltra - yep, I'm fine with that, a character beating a stronger one with a fluke of luck or quick thinking is a very common trope - I just didn't get why she was able to walk away from the encounter with only a few scratches - especially given one of the themes of the show was the consequences of being a hero.

@PlusUltra - Thank you.

I swear these people just ignore key facts so that they can complain about something.
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 3/27/2023, 11:21 AM
@Radders - Because a lot of the time that's what Daredevil walked away with during their fights, and that's someone he was trying to kill. Fisk was barely giving Kate a second thought (mind your business) until right before the trickshot (you're really starting to annoy me)
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 3/27/2023, 11:30 AM
@HOTSHOT - That’s exactly what they do.

@TyrantBossMedia - She didn't beat him. She set off explosives and he still walked away fine. He was beating her easily before.

dagenspear - 3/27/2023, 1:53 PM
@Ryguy88 - She set off an explosive and happened to survive the encounter. Before that nothing she did really effected him.
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 3/27/2023, 2:15 PM
@Radders - That's really the point. He should have taken her apart, but the was able to outwit and beat a highly experienced, powerful and strong crime lord.

Radders
Radders - 3/28/2023, 4:51 AM
@HOTSHOT - yep but that trickshot should've cause serious damage. How much better if she had actually been hurt during the encounter but still wanted to continue down the hero route - a proper hero arc
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 3/28/2023, 5:29 AM
@Radders - Why would that cause damage to her? She'd be a total idiot if she did that.

Her consequence was that she had to accept that her only surviving family member was a criminal and she had to make the hard choice of taking her down.

We don't need to force serious physical injuries to push that since this isn't Ellie from the Last of Us.
Radders
Radders - 3/28/2023, 6:01 AM
@HOTSHOT - Because Kingpin hit her full in the chest knocking her across the room, she should've had a broken rib at the very least.

As I said, in a show where one of the constant themes was the physical cost of being a hero, especially on the non super ones, it would've made perfect sense and paid off that narrative
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 3/28/2023, 7:41 AM
@Radders - No he didn't. He open palm shoved her and threw her a few times in that room. His fist was never closed.

The theme of this show was the constant physical cost to the older hero. Not the younger one. To her, the cost was a personal one. You're misinterpreting the show's themes.
Radders
Radders - 3/28/2023, 7:43 AM
@TyrantBossMedia - In fairness he wasn't really trying to, he was just trying to get her out of his way until the last punch (which should have laid her out)
Having just watched John Wick 4 I know some element of suspension of disbelief is vital and personally, if I'm willing to accept that with one protagonist then equally I have to accept it with another.
Radders
Radders - 3/28/2023, 10:40 AM
@HOTSHOT - I didn't say fist. And the force with which he hit her, given they were running at each other should still cause her damage. If a normal man of his size hit a woman like that it would and he is way stronger.

And no, I think you're the one misinterpreting the shows themes if you think it was just about the physical cost to the older hero.
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 3/28/2023, 2:16 PM
@Radders - Open palm hits and closed fist hits are very different. One is more likely to break bones than the other. So no. It's feasible she didn't get as hurt as if he repeatedly punched her directly.

Show me a single shred of evidence that the show's theme is Kate's physical endurance being tested.

This series is going to be the "almond milk version" as opposed to whole milk

Have you ever tried that shit with cereal? Gross. Almonds don't have nipples.

I'd like to see it.

But also, Kate Bishop already humiliated you.... then Echo did 10 seconds later. Hell, even momma Bishop pawned you with her car in your stupid Christmas Hawaiian shirt. I'm not really in the business of see MCU Kingpin as a threat.... like at all. Like if the MCU Kingpin were to smash a guys head with a door, it would probably be bloodless and the impact would squeak like a doggie toy each time, and the gut would get up afterwards and hug Kingpin then they would both start Twerking.

I love this new MCU!

@TheVandalore - MCU Kingpin got ran over, blown up and shot in the face within the span of 10 minutes, and survived. Smashing a guy’s head in with a car door is nothing in comparison. This Kingpin could quite literally rip the door off and beat you with it.

...unless you are a little girl, in which case MCU Kingpin will get ran over, blown up and shot in the face within the span of 10 minutes. Lol

@TheWalkingCuban - not saying he's even high brow, but I'd take Jim Carey comedy over the MCUs attempts at humor these days in a second flat.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 3/27/2023, 10:38 AM
@TheVandalore - Kate was no threat to Kingpin, hence why he kept throwing her off him like nothing. But of course, all you saw was a little girl beating a man.
