Daredevil season three airs on Netflix later this month and just days before the show's panel takes place at the New York Comic-Con, the embargo has lifted on set visits which took place a little earlier this year. As usual, these are crammed full of fresh intel about what we should expect from the series.

Below, you'll find some big reveals about everything mentioned in the teaser above along with comments from stars Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann-Woll, not to mention new showrunner
Erik Oleson. We also have brand new casting information along with some possible hints about Bullseye appearing.

So, to check out this list of new Daredevil season three reveals, click on the "View List" button below.

Don't Expect Any A-List Cameos

Despite forming a relationship with his fellow Defenders in that spinoff series, it's been confirmed that Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage won't be making an appearance in season three. Instead, we're getting what sounds like a true standalone adventure for the Man Without Fear and that means his frenemy The Punisher also won't be making an appearance ahead of his planned second season.

Why Matt Dons The Black Suit Again

As we've already seen in stills for the series, Matt returns to fighting crime in the makeshift black costume he wore during season one. The reason for that is because he's having both a crisis of faith and self-confidence which has left him feeling like he no longer deserves his superhero costume.

"Matt goes from believing that he was Matt Murdock with this alter ego of Daredevil, to believing he’s Daredevil with a lie of Matt Murdock," the actor reveals, pointing to the hero losing his mind.

A New Take On Sister Maggie

It's been confirmed that Joanne Whalley will be taking on the role of Sister Maggie, a nun who helped raise Matt Murdock when he was an orphan and also nursed him back to health following the events of The Defenders. Oleson says she will serve a "spiritual, advisory role" to Matt but Cox points out that fans who think they know her backstory may be surprised by what the show has planned this year.

When Season 3 Takes Place

The last time we saw Matt Murdock, he was in the care of Sister Maggie and recovering from the injuries he sustained during that battle with Elektra and The Hand. Season three picks up immediately after the events of The Defenders before a significant time jump takes place picking up with the hero once he's recovered. Before that, though, it's said he's physically incapable" of being Daredevil.

Matt Finds A New Home

Further emphasising that Daredevil may be struggling with his some serious mental issues, it's said that he spends most of season three living in a basement crypt beneath a church. Apparently, his new costume was made from materials he scavenged there and its tatty appearance is meant to emphasise his state of mind. It goes without saying then that the Man Without Fear appears to be struggling.

How Wilson Fisk Gets Out Of Prison

Wilson Fisk is a free man in Daredevil season three...well, sort of. In exchange for being released, the former Kingpin of Crime is now an FBI informant and it appears as if he's working with them to try and save Vanessa as she's being charged for being an accessory to his crimes. The FBI is keeping close tabs on Fisk as he's holed up in the penthouse suite of a New York hotel and they watch his every move.

Wilson Fisk's Handler

The man tasked with keeping an eye of The Kingpin is Jay Ali's Rahul "Ray" Nadeem. Oleson says that Ali will have a major role to play throughout the season and with the FBI placed in a room right next to Fisk so they can watch his movements 24/7, he's clearly going to grow close with the villain. The question is, will he be an ally to The Kingpin or remain on the side of the angels? Time will tell.

So, Are We Getting Bullseye Or Not?

Unless some sort of big reveal is coming at the show's panel at New York Comic-Con on Saturday, Marvel is clearly going to keep us waiting when it comes to whether or not we'll see the Man Without Fear do battle with Bullseye. All Oleson would say is that there will be another antagonist who is a physical threat to Matt and who is "in many ways is able to balance and at times best Daredevil."

Karen Page's Backstory

There have been some big hints about Karen Page's past and we're finally going to learn more about that during season three. Apparently, there will be some flashbacks and Woll says that "We will get a sense of why shooting someone and covering it up is a bit more in her wheelhouse." It sounds like Karen may have been a victim of domestic violence and that she could have killed the man responsible.

No Single Comic Book Story Is Being Adapted

While it's been widely reported that Daredevil season three will be an adaptation of Frank Miller's "Born Again," Oleson says that the season arc is actually an original story and isn't adapting any one comic book series. However, he admits that "Born Again" has inspired the tone as did Kevin Smith's "Guardian Devil." Worryingly, that's the storyline in which Bullseye actually murdered Karen Page.

Karen Page Vs. The Kingpin

Many fans have taken umbrage with how large a role Karen Page has received in the series as they argue that she's taken too much of the spotlight from the Man Without Fear. Regardless, it sounds like she'll once again have plenty to do in season three because it's said that she'll be getting a one-on-one scene with Wilson Fisk for the first time and that's bound to be interesting given the history there.

Expect To Learn More About Foggy Nelson

Surprisingly, Karen isn't the only one whose past will be fleshed out during season three because we'll also meet Foggy Nelson's family and learn more about his background. It's also said that Foggy has changed quite a bit since the first time we met him as he's now wearing expensive suits and comfortable with the benefits which come with working for a much larger and successful law firm.

Lesley Ann Warren Has Joined The Show's Cast

Lesley Ann Warren has joined the cast asMrs. Falb, a character described as a woman of high morals and steely resolve. A true survivor, Mrs. Falb is uncompromising in her beliefs, even if it means making powerful enemies. Could it be that she'll be looking to take over as New York City's new Kingpin of Crime? If so, Wilson Fisk is bound to have something to say as he looks to regain his old position.

No Daredevil In The Daylight

Oleson served as a producer on Arrow and it seems as if he's brought one very important lesson from his time there with him. Apparently, that is the fact that superhero outfits don't look particularly good in daylight, so we can probably expect Matt to stick to the shadows. Unfortunately, no one would reveal whether or not the Man Without Fear ultimately returns to wearing his classic red costume.

Charlie Cox's Approach To Playing Daredevil

As well as having to deal with a Matt Murdock who may be struggling with his mental health, Cox reveals that he used one key piece of advice from original showrunner Steven S. DeKnight this year. That is the fact Daredevil is just one bad day away from becoming Frank Castle and the signs appear to be pointing to us seeing a version of the Man Without Fear who is now very much on the edge.

The Action Scenes Have Been Overhauled

"The action sequences are violent and explosive and very much Daredevil," Oleson says, promising that he's looking to bring something new to the table this year. "And yet there are real stakes in every action sequence." That definitely sounds like the right approach and is better than what DeKnight did in the season one finale when he embraced comic book visuals a little too much during the final battle.

Foggy And Karen Will Believe Matt Is Dead...At First

Stills have confirmed that Matt will ultimately be reunited with Karen and Foggy but if you were under the impression that he would rush to tell them that he's still alive once he recovers from his injuries, guess again. Apparently, he chooses to let them both believe that he's died when the season begins and it should be very interesting learning how they discover that their old friend is alive.

Expect A Much Darker Season

In news which is bound to excite fans of Frank Miller's Daredevil run, it's said that compared to season one and two, season three will be much darker with a greater emphasis on the show's lead characters. Oleson (who seemingly wasn't a fan of the show's second batch of episodes) compares this run to a cross between season one and The Sopranos which arguably sounds pretty much perfect to us...

DAREDEVIL is the only NETFLIX´s MARVEL show that deserve our time.
Well, and maybe the first Luke Cage

The best that they can do for this third season is don't let IRON PUSSY making an appearance

Charlie Cox is cool as Daredevil, hope he get someday his crossover with Spider-Man

@Doomsday8888 - good hell. Sounds good to me except I feel like Karen needs to go at some point in the season and he needs to Don the true red suit with the DD about three-quarters of the way through the season

I am on my way reading it and I liked the part where it says that Fisk is working as an FBI consultant, only way he could be seen as a good guy in front of the law. And no wonder Matt is even more frustrated and done with it all if they are letting a guy like him help them out. Hence why he said in the teaser "I thought it could be done in a court with a jury and a judge but I was wrong".
