News broke late last night that Netflix had decided to cancel Daredevil, and fans were not too happy about it... to say the least. However, while Matt Murdock's adventures may have come to an end on the mega-popular streaming service, it looks like we will see him again in some capacity.

Marvel has now released a statement on the show's cancellation, and it confirms that the studio does indeed have plans to continue The Man Without Fear's adventures.

Marvel is extremely grateful to the huge audience that loved Marvel’s Daredevil. From the moment of young Matt’s first act of heroism to the birth of Page, Murdock, & Nelson, it has been a unbelievable journey. We are incredibly proud of the amazing showrunners and writers starting with Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie and Erik Oleson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio and our casts who brought our characters to life with such excellence, and every one of the fantastic crews in NYC. We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future."

Could we see Charlie Cox reprise the role of Matt Murdock in the upcoming seasons of The Punisher or Jessica Jones, perhaps? Even if that happens, it definitely sounds like Marvel has plans for the character beyond one final farewell on Netflix.

Disney+ is a possibility, but that would almost certainly mean a full reboot with a completely new cast. Daredevil making his way to the big screen would be ideal scenario for many fans, but that's probably wishful thinking.

I personally would really like to see Charlie Cox continue to carry the mantle of Daredevil. Please keep him on Disney!

@PC04 - Absolutely. Bring him into the Black Widow movie. Then give him a stand-alone.

Where did they promise? They only said "We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future."

There's a big difference between those two.

@guyatadesk - they implied that they HOPE to ser more adventures. Nothing certain.

That's my point

@ccxa - They specifically said "We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future."
No 'hope' in that sentence. Marvel/Disney are HUGE companies with PR departments. They carefully pick each and every word. They didn't even have to put out a statement, but they did here. They would not leave that line at the end of this statement to fux with us. Those words were carefully placed there for a reason.
I work for a company that can be very particular about communication blasts. A simple 100 word email that reaches thousands of employees may go through a full week of approvals before it goes out.

@ccxa

They don’t mention anything about Cox and crew returning.

We’ll get a DD in the MCU but I don’t think it will be the Netflix version.

@ccxa - does this confirm A4 has "time travel"
... "in the future"
"We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future."

Of course we'll see Daredevil again in the future, but that doesn't mean it's going to be Cox's Daredevil!

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - On the bright side we might actually get a more comic accurate costume and a costumed Bullseye. Along with Fisk appearing in other MCU properties.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - there's no Daredevil without those two

[frick] the reboot.
