BTW, Y'all understand there is no DD on the chest because he wasn't called DareDevil till after the final fight. So logically the DD would've made no sense unless he called himself DareDevil first. Since he was only referred to as the Devil of hells kitchen then its a good thing he didn't go for initials on the chest because "DOHK" doesn't look as good as "DD". Season 2, you'll get the DD and the upgraded suit.

Am I the only one who thinks he looked more badass in the black outfit than the red? The red suit needs a lot of work!

the red costume is too bulky and batman like it should be sleek and tight fitting

should be done in the way deadpool was done

Greatest comic book TV show every. Not even close. Kingpin delivered the best villain performance since Heath ledger. All in all, probably the best comic book adaptation ever. This was absolutely amazing cinematically, in choreography, acting, story, etc.

This show was such a game changer. Before this show dropped TDK was the definitive vigilante story and for some the definitive adapted comic book property in general (I have it and BB in my top five). Now I have legitimate questions as to whether that is the case anymore. Daredevil was equally high concept, with better action, a comparable villain (Donofrio is mesmerizing as Fisk), more character development (too be fair that has everything to do with the medium and isn't a criticism of Nolan's films), and equal if not greater stakes. Marvel laid down the gauntlet with this film when it comes to adapting the vigilante characters which ahs traditionally been where DC hangs it's hat because well it's Batman; for most people he is THE vigilante. Snyder and Affleck have their work cut out for them to create an equally compelling batman. I'm definitely excited to see if they can do it though. (Also isn't it kinda hilarious that both Ben Affleck's Daredevil and Batman are both now going to be measured against Charlie Cox).

Anyone else want the war between the Hand and the Chaste to play out next season? Elektra is for sure going to appear. Matt could also get a step closer to his classic suit, the armor suit will slow him down if he is fighting ninjas like Nobu. I can already hear Stick mocking Matt's suit and I would imagine that the Chaste could give him a more ninja-like suit. What do you guys think? I think Bullseye could also be introduced at the end of the season with the Kingpin being released from prison.

My new favorite show. And quality wise it's in a class all it's own.

Really agreed with their read on the show - Foggy was definitely out-acted by everyone else. One thing I would point out is that they left the door open for the Owl with Owlsley's son, who was referenced several times. Owlsley was 70 something, so his son would still be middle-aged.
ManThing
ManThing - 4/14/2015, 8:43 AM
@ Mmmmurdock I totally disagree about the suit.

But as far as a second season dealing with the Hand/Chaste/ Elektra: hellz yeah.

MarkCassidy - 4/14/2015, 8:47 AM
By far the best superhero tv series we've had yet... and it's not even close. I also think the black suit actually looked better, though the red one wasn't as bad once I saw it in motion. It wouldn't really word if it was tighter fitting as the whole point of him getting it is cos he needed more protection, but yeah it could have been better. The helmet is pretty bad.
Mmmmurdock
Mmmmurdock - 4/14/2015, 8:49 AM
@ManThing
Really? I think the armored suit will improve, but as Matt becomes an increasingly skilled fighter, the need for the armor would not be so strong. I'm just imagining that we can one day get the fighter from the Bendis run who took out a whole mob of armed Yakuza, who wielded swords, in under 3 minutes. At that point his armor would slow him down, and in the finale it visibly does make him seem slower and stiff. The early action scenes were so fluid, but his fight with Kingpin was just a straight up brawl and it lacked a lot of the fast paced and fluid action of the earlier fights. The acrobatics of Daredevil have yet to be portrayed on the show as well. Meeting with the Chaste and opposing the Hand could help him train to get to that point.

Could someone explain the "world on fire" thing, does the "sees" like that all the time or he needs to concentrate or something?
Mmmmurdock
Mmmmurdock - 4/14/2015, 8:59 AM
@Urubrodi
They didn't spend too much time on it, but I believe it's like that all the time. At least when he explained it to Claire it seemed that way and then the way Foggy reacted it seemed that he had given him the same explanation. But he did also mention that he had to concentrate... I don't know, they were just trying to explain it to the general audience. I would have been fine not even seeing that shot of how Matt sees, we all got how he perceived the world.
ManThing
ManThing - 4/14/2015, 9:08 AM
@ Mmmmurdock the show had some acrobatics in almost every fight scene as well as one incredibly cool scene of rooftop jumping and travel. So your wrong about that.

No matter how great of a fighter he is, he's still not super human. He will continue to be shot at and take punishment a lot. That just comes with the territory. Any fighter no matter who they are that takes on multiple armed attackers WILL take some blows. Having body armor gives him a needed edge. And after the fight with Nobu in which he got sliced up like deli meat he'll want to have some protection moving forward, especially if he's going to be facing a lot more like him. Wrong again.

I am convinced that part of what we see take place during the Kingpin fight was Matt consciously testing the armor's capabilities. In that moment where Kingpin had him on the ground, he didn't fight back and he didn't bounce up. Instead he laid there and took some blows on purpose because he wanted to see how well it did and it worked like a charm. None of Kingpin's blows had any significant effect. The armor works.

That aside, I recognize that the Kingpin fight was anticlimactic. It wasn't anywhere near as good as the rest of the fights. But that could just be bad scene writing. I don't think that we can blame that on the suit. If the suit is really weighing him down he'll adjust to it in time anyway.

If Batman can fight in bulky body armor, so can Daredevil. The bottom line is that you don't like the costume, and you're reaching for specious reasons why it doesn't or shouldn't work. They may upgrade it in the future. They'll probably add in the logo. Maybe they will make it all red. But no matter what they do, realistically Daredevil does need body armor and I hope they keep it.
ManThing
ManThing - 4/14/2015, 9:13 AM
@ Urubrodie It's how Matt perceives the world through his super senses. The "world on fire" image is how it appears to him inside his head. In his mind's eye.
The super hearing, smell, and radar power create it and though, technically he can't see it, it's the picture it builds in his mind from the senses he does have.

I am fine with the costume, it just seems like it slowed him down a bit in the last episode.

Hi guys, I have just watched EP6 and I am afraid I am disappointed so far. I wanted this show so much but I have not yet come to like it. I seriously hope it gets better because so far I have only seen a mediocre story with no fantastic stuff going on yet. I have yet to see DD parkour through the city and use some gadgets. Hope it gets more CB like.

It is because he isn't Daredevil yet. This entire season is his origin. My advice: just sit back and enjoy the ride. The next season will come sooner than you think and it will be a better reflection of the comic.

Daredevil is an awesome series…. first time in a long time I found myself enjoying a adaptation from a comic book series.

BTW, anyone wondering WHY Frank Miller hasn't been referenced more with DD? LOTS of his influence in this series and done much better than before.

@ Chuckv Good question. I looked for his name in the credits somewhere but it wasn't there. That ain't right.

@ Mmmmurdock Cool. Np.

@OmegaDaGr0dd That was BestAtWhatIDo that said that, not me. But that thanks anyway. lol But your right that is a good catch. Hopefully at some point Owlsley's son will pop up as The Owl.

Just Awesome and the best part is we still have a lot to look foward to in Season 2: Elektra (That Greek Girl Matt dated in college), Bullseye and of course the Hand clan. You also know that Karen Page will go through her agony causing her to reveal Matt's secret identity to the Kingpin which will take this series to another level. Season 2 needs to have more Stick in it to because Scott Glenn killed it playing him, and maybe Marvel and Sony could lend Spider-Man for a show or two. After this series bring on Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and of course the Defenders! Next set of Netflix Marvel Characters that need to have shows are Moon Knight, The Punisher, Ghost Rider and Blade. A Midnight Sons show would be awesome too! Oh the possibilities.

The decision to make it contemporary noir was perfect, and the series was great, although by the end I felt it was dragging a bit, could have maybe been two episodes shorter and gotten to the same point quicker.

I liked the black costume, but I think ultimately it has to be the red costume, although I agree it needs a bit more work on it - they should actually just go with more of a spandex look altogether (more like Spidey costumes) and [frick] the kevlar plating look, it's redundant, since the stuff is supposed to be flexi kevlar anyway.

I think it would have been kinda cool if (in the final fight) when Fisk head butted DD he would have come away with two bloody divots where the horns got him...
