First Look At MARVEL RISING: SECRET WARRIORS Reveals Glimpse of Milana Vayntrub As Squirrel Girl

While the live-action Squirrel Girl is still looking for a network or service to pick up it's pilot, the animated version is well on it's way to release.

Marvel Animation's new project, Marvel Rising, is gearing up toward a release later this year with Marvel Rising: Initiation, a series of shorts highlighting a number of the upcoming animated features heroes, such as Patriot, Ghost Spider, Quake, Ms. Marvel, and Squirrel Girl. These shorts, which will begin airing in August, were featured during Marvel Rising's panel at SDCC, including a look at Milana Vayntrub's performance as Squirrel Girl.

While the upcoming animated feature includes several MCU veterans (Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennett, and Ming-Na Wen), another prospective MCU actress is Vayntrub herself, who was cast last year as Squirrel Girl for the live-action, MCU-set New Warriors half-hour comedy pilot. While the show eventually was taken off Freeform's schedule, the pilot continues to search for a new home, although the upcoming Fox-Disney merger has currently stalled Marvel Television's ability to launch new series, pending the mergers approval and the integration of the two companies, with Disney's upcoming streaming service seeming a likely contender for the part. In this trailer and clip below, we may be able to glean how she may be playing the character in the MCU should the show eventually be picked up to a full series once more, as she and Ms. Marvel confront the recently-framed Ghost Spider.

Third, I like the animation, oh and looks fun, I hope Marvel produce a new X-Men Cartoon or something very different, for example Great Lake Avengers or Howard the Duck / Man-Thing Team-Up, that would be great

@IcemanX
Same.
I don't know why i waste my time with these Marvel Animation panels, mofos never announce some X-Men series, eventhough they have the rights and all.
Everything is MCU related, f*ck em.
Maybe after the Fox deal things will be different, but still...they are petty af.
Anyway, after reading "Fox-Disney merger has currently stalled Marvel Television's ability to launch new series"
I'm less pissed this year.

Not a fan of the art style (or music for that matter), but Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel in the same series is awfully tempting.
