Back in August, we were introduced to the universe of
Marvel Rising. The animated series of shorts,
Marvel Rising: Initiation, starred "the next generation of Marvel heroes." Specifically, it focused on Gwen Stacy, aka Ghost-Spider (formerly known as Spider-Gwen), as she attempted to clear her name when falsely accused of a crime she didn't commit.
The series also introduced us to a few other characters in the
Marvel Rising universe, including Patriot, Quake, Ms. Marvel, and Squirrel Girl. These characters were then expanded upon in the recently released animated feature
Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Unfortunately, Ghost-Spider was not seen in the feature, but thankfully we'll get our next adventure with the hero in a brand-new 22-minute special
Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts.
In the new special, Ghost-Spider will team up with the Secret Warriors to bring down the villains Sheath and Exile. A teaser for
Chasing Ghosts can be seen below.
Stand Out. Rise Together. Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts features the return of Dove Cameron (“Descendants 3”) and BooBoo Stewart (“Descendants 3”) in a brand-new 22-minute special that follows Ghost-Spider teaming-up with the Secret Warriors to bring down the villains Sheath and Exile for good.
In addition to
Chasing Ghosts, we'll also be getting another animated special -
Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron, which will introduce Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, to the universe. The synopsis reads:
In this 44-minute special, we find Riri Williams adjusting to college life and feeling socially isolated because she is younger than the other students. After Hala the Accuser destroys the school’s engineering lab and kidnaps Riri’s best friend, Riri finds inspiration in her hero Iron Man and hatches a plan to defeat Hala and save the day.
Dove Cameron will once again voice Ghost-Spider, while Riri Williams will be voiced by Sofia Wylie. Premiere dates and distribution partners for both Chasing Ghosts and Heart of Iron will be announced at a later date.
