M.O.D.O.K. Star Patton Oswalt Reacts To Hulu Canceling The Marvel Television Series

Over the weekend, we learned that Hulu had pulled the plug on one of Marvel Television's final TV shows, M.O.D.O.K., and lead star Patton Oswalt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has now responded to the news.

A couple of days ago, we learned that Hulu has pulled the plug on M.O.D.O.K. That wasn't remotely surprising with Marvel Studios now in charge of small screen storytelling, and the expectation is that Hit-Monkey will be the next and final Marvel Television show on the chopping block.

Once upon a time, the plan at Hulu had been to launch a slate of animated Marvel TV shows, including Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler. Eventually, they would have crossed over in an event dubbed "The Offenders," but that won't happen now and Marvel Studios has its own slate of animated projects in the works for Disney+ (including Spider-Man: Freshman Year and Marvel Zombies).

Now, M.O.D.O.K. star Patton Oswalt has shared his reaction to the show's cancellation.

As you might expect, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Eternals actor is pretty disappointed. However, he'll still have a role to play in the MCU as Pip the Troll (fingers crossed the VFX are a little better when he returns), and M.O.D.O.K. fans might want to keep an eye on Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

Were you said to bid farewell to M.O.D.O.K. after just a single season on Hulu?

@bobevanz

This movie was not bad, and I really enjoyed all the performances (especially Driver's). And Jared Leto was great.

I only hated this Italian English accent, they use in all movies.

It sounds like Mario.

Marvel does it too, Arnim Zola and his Germano-english were more laughable than realistic.

Watched the series but was never enamored of it, so I won't miss it at all. Always thought it could have, should have been a lot better, even with the supposed humor element.

@Nunyabiz - I used to like em but he just overstayed and over saturated. He was great as the larper on Reno 911

@TheWalkingCuban - I really liked Reno 911, I thought oswalt was tolerable in it. Something about him comes off as more annoying than funny to me.

@TheWalkingCuban - Tried to watch the Reno 911 "reboot" or whatever they called it. Just not as good.

Could’t even make it through the second episode. And for me, that’s saying something, I’m usually very stubborn about committing to comic book movies/tv. But, sorry Patton, it was shit.

Heard this show was bad. Is it true?

I thought just hearing his annoying voice was bad enough then I heard the dialog from that show and it made it worse, much much worse. Good riddance…✌️

Whenever I see anything about Patton Oswalt, I can’t help but think about the time he came after James Rolfe for not wanting to do a review of the 2016 Ghostbusters movie.

It had its moments but it wasn’t anything incredible. The actual animation work was great though!
