The highly anticipated Superhero Movie Thunderbolts* set to be released in Cinemas by the 1st of May has been keeping fans on edge since it was announced. Some are very interested in Lewis’s Character -Sentry which is reportedly an MCU version of Superman.
All released trailers of the movie have so far not given anything special up about Sentry's Superpowers or power levels, only at a point hinting that he was a god-level super figure.
PERSONAL PREDICTION
Based on my research of the character, I see Marvel going down the route of making Bob see the bigger picture or potentially even talking him down to not destroying mankind. We see this play out in ‘Doctor Strange’ where Doctor Stephen Strange talked down/frustrated Higher life entity -Dormamu into a deal. Because really, except that, how can a couple of super powered individuals defeat such a character.
Another option is to trick or outsmart him into doing something. This is another potential move the team can take considering the current state of power levels.
POTENTIAL TO TAKE SENTRY DOWN
Beyond the above discussed, I acknowledge based on research, the Sentry is not invulnerable. So, my top picks if the Thunderbolts* are going to take him down would be;
1. Negative Zone: According to Sentry #3 by Paul Jenkins, John Romita Jr., and Mark Morales, a prolonged stay in the negative zone would drain the Sentry of his powers.
2. Asgardian Magic: We may see a brief cameo of an Asgardian, possibly Thor or Lady Thor. There's a possibility that any of these characters possessing Asgardian Magic may come in to give the final blow while the Thunderbolts* distract him.
3. Anti-Matter: An anti-matter machine or weapon may have probably already been a available as a deterrent or backstop incase the Sentry goes rouge. This is something I see Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontain being a part of. Her position and influence in defense indicates that she's more than a conniving woman with a fashion sense. We may probably be delved deeper into some knowledge of who she truly is and what she is capable of.
4. Ghost: My final prediction is that Ghost is probably going to pull up a stunt or reveal a power that no one knows she previously had. She is actually the only superpowered individual on the group and she got her powers from the quantum realm. So quantum energy is a possibility.
Now, I acknowledge that all these may not come to play ‘per se’ as the Void's weaknesses may not be the same as Sentry's weaknesses.
It would be a shame to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontain going scot-free, but let's be honest, this is likely going to happen, as she would be relevant for future projects.
