VisionQuest is nearly here, and after some hit-and-miss streaming series from Marvel Studios during the Multiverse Saga, it feels like this show could deliver the same level of quality storytelling as early hits like WandaVision and Loki.
The series will pick up with White Vision after he fled the Hex with his memories but no emotions, bringing back Ultron and introducing Tommy, aka Speed. Billy/Wiccan is bound to show up at some point, and the show will likely lead directly into December's Avengers: Doomsday.
Critics will receive the full 8-episode season of VisionQuest next week, with the social embargo set to lift on October 8 at 5.45 pm ET. Reviews, meanwhile, will go live on October 12 at 3 pm ET, suggesting Marvel Studios is very confident in this one.
Now, the runtimes for each episode of VisionQuest have been revealed, and they make for interesting reading:
- Episode 1 — 53 minutes
- Episode 2 — 45 minutes
- Episode 3 — 52 minutes
- Episode 4 — 48 minutes
- Episode 5 — 46 minutes
- Episode 6 — 54 minutes
- Episode 7 — 1 hour & 2 minutes
- Episode 8 — 1 hour & 8 minutes
With no instalment under 45 minutes, VisionQuest promises to devote plenty of time to Vision's story. However, the big news is that the seventh and eighth chapters break Hawkeye's record of 58 minutes to become the longest MCU TV episodes ever.
We don't have a schedule for when each episode hits Disney+, but VisionQuest is confirmed for a two-part premiere. Combined, the final two episodes are feature-length, which is particularly exciting for fans eager to see these characters spotlighted.
A new TV spot for VisionQuest has also been revealed, which you can check out below.
In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
