Loki is set to arrive on Disney+ early next month, and with only six episodes, it will wrap up in mid-July. With What If? billed for a summer release, we've anticipated it arriving late July/August for a while now, but Entertainment Weekly is reporting today that it's going to be the latter month.
The site doesn't have a specific date, unfortunately, but this is good news and hopefully means an official announcement is right around the corner. We have seen a trailer for What If?, but details are few and far between; with that in mind, the next sneak peek will hopefully pull back the curtain on this show.
A synopsis for the series was shared during last year's Disney Investor Day, revealing: "'What If…?' flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways."
"Coming to Disney+ in summer 2021, Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU," it continues, "featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews; Ashley Bradley is head writer."
Some concept art for the series recently leaked online that you can check out by clicking here. Initially, we thought What If? would be very standalone in nature, but other reveals about the series have hinted at it actually having wider ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the Multiverse.
Are you excited to hopefully tune into What If? this August?
