The chances of Anthony Mackie getting a standalone Falcon movie may seem slim as of right now but the actor has landed another leading role as the star of Netflix's sci-fi series Altered Carbon. He's taking over from Joel Kinnaman as Takeshi Kovacs, a character we always knew would have a new face in season two given the nature of the series and the way things ended when season one wrapped up.

It's also been confirmed that writer Alison Schapker (The Flash, Fringe) has joined the series as co-showrunner alongside Laeta Kalogridis. No return date or episode count have been revealed yet.

Kinnaman (Suicide Squad) announced shortly after the show debuted in February that he wouldn't be returning as he's taking on a lead role in Amazon Prime's planned Hanna reboot. It's hard to fault Netflix for choosing Mackie as his replacement, though, and it's going to be a lot of fun seeing what he brings to the role. What do you guys think?
