Netflix (via FearHQ.com) has finally released the bloody first trailer for Day Shift, an upcoming horror comedy starring Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home) as an average, everyday vampire slayer who makes his living tracking, killing, and de-fanging undead bloodsuckers in sunny California.
Foxx's character is described as "a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires."
"In this movie, I'm in the business of chasing down vampires and getting money for fangs," Foxx teased during Netflix's recent Geeked Week. "We're making something that you've never seen before. It's fun and the stunts that you'll see are amazing."
The movie also stars Dave Franco and Snoop Dog as the other members of Foxx's crew, and if this first footage is any indication, it should be a fun time.

The film was helmed by first-time feature director JJ Perry, who has previously served as second unit director and stunt coordinator on Fast & Furious 9, The Fate of the Furious, Bloodshot, and the John Wick movies. Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and Jason Spitz are producing for 87Eleven Entertainment, along with Shaun Redick (BlackKklansman) and Yvette Yates Redick (Malicious) for Impossible Dream Entertainment.
Tyler Tice wrote the original script, which won the Slamdance Writing Competition Grand Prize back in 2017. Revisions were handled by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Army of the Dead).
Day Shift is set to hit Netflix on August 12.
