During today's TUDUM event, Netflix finally launched the official trailer for Heart of Stone, their upcoming spy action thriller, which stars Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman; Justice League) as a CIA agent named Rachel Stone, who has been tasked by with protecting a mysterious asset known as "The Heart" from enemy operatives.
She's joined by Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, in her Hollywood debut, as an Indian agent named Keya Dhawan, who is apparently the villain of the picture and it sure seems like she's going to be more than a handful for Gadot.
The supporting cast consists of Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi, Paul Ready, Jon Kortajarena, Matteo Cicconi, and Angela Esposito.
Tom Harper (The Aeronauts; Peaky Blinders) directed the feature, with a screenplay from Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder.
Netflix has high hopes for this late Summer release, as they're hoping it'll launch a globe-trotting franchise in the same vein as Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible series, which is, obviously something easier said than done, but considering Netflix has lined up a pair of very big stars to headline this film, so it's highly likely it will attract plenty of clicks.
Heart of Stone starts streaming exclusively on Netflix on August 11.
