Netflix (via FearHQ) has debuted the first teaser trailer for Tim Burton's Wednesday, and it looks like the show is going to take the black comedy to a whole new level.
A macabre sense of humour has been at the forefront of all previous adaptations of The Addams Family, of course, but this latest take might be the darkest yet, as we see Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) unleash a school of piranha on the jocks who have been bullying her brother, Pugsley.
Most of the boys escape, but one of them ends up losing a very important piece of his anatomy in fairly bloody fashion!
We also get another look at Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsly, and Thing... as Thing. Of course, one iconic character is conspicuous by their absence, but we have it on good authority that Uncle Fester will also appear!

We recently learned that Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the '90s Addams Family movie and its sequel Addams Family Values, had been cast in an undisclosed role. She joins Game of Thrones alum Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, the principal of Wednesday's school.
The coming-of-age comedy series, which has Al Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville, Into the Badlands) on board as showrunners, is said to be "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."
Burton will make his TV directing debut with the show, and will also executive produce alongside Jonathan Glickman, Andrew Mittman, Kayla Alpert, Gail Berman, Steve Stark, and Kevin Miserocchi.
No premiere date has been announced.
