Rick Famuyiwa has had a rather busy week.  After (reportedly) throwing shade at the DC Film Universe, it was announced that he's signed up to helm an adaptation of Black Hole and now, it seems he'll also helm an original superhero tale for Netflix titled Past Midnight.  Keanu Reeves is being sought to portray the lead.  Additional details on the project and plot are being kept under wraps.

If Reeves is being sought to star, it's thought that filming won't begin anytime soon as the Matrix star will be busy prepping for John Wick: Chapter 3.  That leaves Famuyiwa free to tackle the Black Hole first.

Netflix needs a win in the original movies category... those Sandler flicks, Bright, Mute and the Cloverfield Paradox all kind of got savaged by critics.

Okja was pretty awesome though, and landed a well-deserved 85% on RT.

After Dope (and many of his other films) I’m down for this!

Honestly I think Famuyiwa would make a good director pick for the MCU X-men if he ever wanted to try another big superhero franchise. I would really like to know what his reasons were for stepping away from the flash film.

I still wish he was attached to "The Flash" film. By this time, we would've had this along with "Aquaman" to look foward to. The WB and their issues. I'd love to know who keeps pointing the fingers and blaming those fingers, lol.

I would say "shut up and take my money", but Netflix is already getting my money every month, so...

Still...
