AHSOKA Star Rosario Dawson Seems Confident A Second Season (And More) Will Eventually Happen

Ahsoka Tano wasn't initially a hit with Star Wars fans when she was introduced as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in The Clone Wars. However, it wasn't too long before the hero became one of the franchise's most beloved characters.

Her story continued in Star Wars Rebels before Ahsoka debuted in live-action during The Mandalorian's second season. Rosario Dawson later reprised the role for a cameo in The Book of Boba Fett and will take centre stage this summer in her own Disney+ series appropriately titled Ahsoka

Talking to Empire (via SFFGazette.com), Dawson made it clear she hopes to continue playing this character for the long haul.

"I’m absolutely putting it out into the universe," she said of a possible season 2. "We’re joking about it, but I’m manifesting it because I feel like I helped Dave [Filoni, Star Wars mastermind and Ahsoka Tano’s co-creator] manifest this role. So I’m ready. I’m excited. I’m willing."

"I got my ice-packs ready to go for Season 2 and beyond! I would not be mad at that."

As for where we find Ahsoka in this spin-off series, Dawson adds: "I love how confident she is. She’s not fearless, but she never hesitates. She is so willing, but she does have worries, she does have stress and she’s gone through a lot of anxiety. She’s had some really tough crises and traumas in her life."

"I really dig how complex she is. Even her moments of just finding her way, and butting heads, and being stubborn, and being wrong; having to deal with the pain of what that is when soldiers are dying under her command."

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

The series stars Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, with Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ this August.
