Disney+'s Andor proved to be a very pleasant surprise, especially since we all know how the titular freedom fighter's, Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, story ends.

Director/writer Tony Gilroy has previously confirmed that the final episode will conclude moments before we first meet Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and he's now revealed that the last three episodes will cover the three days leading up to the events of the movie.

“The risks this season will take are very different,” he tells Empire. “In every way. Look, man, I’m not trying to make a career here; if anything I’m on the downhill side of a long career. But this is an opportunity. This is 1,500 pages of the most dynamic material in these people’s lives to deal with. We got it right the first time, and you don’t want to let your foot off the gas.”

We may know Cassian's fate, but there are other principal characters viewers have become invested in, including Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael, who delivered arguably the best monologue in Star Wars history towards the end of the first season.

Rael and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) seem to have very different views on how a rebellion should be fought, and it sounds like they may clash during season 2.

“Some of its core ingredients are secrecy and paranoia and lack of trust and betrayal. So, how difficult is it to build a revolution?” questions Gilroy. “And what happens to the original gangsters, as other people get involved?”

Rogue One & Andor = greatness. Too bad the last Star Wars trilogy was such a pile of garbage though.

This takes place three days before the inbetweenequel Rogue One which takes place minutes before the original Star Wars.

Why not introduce time travel to the SW galaxy so they can make more movies, series, and spinoffs in between the seconds in between THOSE projects rather than ever doing anything creative or original?

@Feralwookiee - I kinda agree, but I also don't. Andor and Rogue One really enrich and recontextualize the Star Wars universe in my opinion

Season 2 of the best Star Wars show will have its final arc leading into the best Disney Star Wars movie? This is fantastic news.

It would be perfect if Tony Gilroy wrote a Shadows of the Empire Show starring Dash Rendar played by Jensen Ackles.

@Repian - I like that idea a lot. I wouldn't mind it if Filoni & Favreau tackle it after the movie, but Gilroy doing it would be oretty great too

Season 1 was so great, I kinda wish they just made 4 more season each focusing on a year instead of one year oer arc in season 2.

Anyway, the final arc catching up with Rogue One is pretty cool. Wouldn't even be surprised if we get Andor's first scene from that movie playing out again.
