Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as The Daniels, are heading to the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Coming off their huge night at the Academy Awards last Sunday (Everything Everywhere All At Once pretty much swept the board), THR reports that the filmmakers are working on upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew.

Production on the show actually wrapped a couple of months ago, but the directors involved had not been announced. Kwan has since taken to Instagram to confirm that they only helmed a single episode of the series.

Specific plot details also remain under wraps for the time being, but we do know that Jude Law will star, and the New Republic-set story will revolve around a group of kids lost in the galaxy trying to find their way home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts in on board as a producer along with The Mandalorian masterminds Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

The Daniels are going to find themselves in very high demand after A24's EEAAO's Oscar wins. In addition to their Best Director statue, the mind-bending sci-fi drama took home Best Picture,  Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Best Editing (Paul Rogers).

They'll have carte Blanche on A24 moving forward, and it's well deserved. Love the Daniels!

@xfan320 - not to name drop, but it's blowing my mind right now being ONE degree away from Kevin Bacon essentially.

Always wanting the best for him and proud of how true he's stayed to his style!

These guys have been among the most creative directors in Hollywood and it’s exciting that they’re getting their due.

Wouldn't mind it if the corporate machine of Marvel Studios sucked them up to direct Secret Wars. Trust them a lot more with the multiverse than Loveness or Waldron.

@bkmeijer1 - i haven't seen EEAAO so no clue if it was really that good, did you see it? I guess where i'm going is, these guys can't be anyworse than what we've gotten so far... so i say bring them on... but in reality, i miss the Russo's and Markus/McFeeley :(

Probably more of a writing thing but wouldn't a reality where people have hotdog fingers be, I dunno... different?

@CamtonoOfBeskar - I think you're asking too much from a site gag on a relatively low budget movie.

It needed an Evelyn otherwise we as the audience couldn't see it. And if it had an Evelyn then bare minimum it's reasonable to assume much of the main cast would be there too.

And anything to develop a world more suitable to hot dog fingers can be dismissed as just not having the time or money to build specialty sets to make sense for a hot dog finger society when we don't even experience the world for more than a minute.

EEAAO is my GOAT.

I dont mind them staying indie if the corporate machine will only hinder their talents. Either they stay indie or they are asked to do a blockbuster on their terms.

But it will be interesting to see this take on star wars as a trial.
