STAR WARS: ANDOR Character Rumored To Appear In THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 And AHSOKA - Possible SPOILERS

An Andor character who has a storied history in the wider Star Wars franchise is rumoured to play a crucial role in both The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka, and you can find everything we know right here!

We've been hearing rumblings for a while now that Genevieve O'Reilly will reprise the role of Mon Mothma in a number of upcoming Star Wars projects, and Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) recently shared some fresh intel on where she'll appear next. As you'll soon find out, the actress has had a very busy year.

Before we get to that, though, a quick refresher. In Andor, we've seen the double life Mon was forced to live before finally joining, and leading, the Rebellion.

It's been tough for her and, as expected, her story is going to continue in that show's upcoming second season. However, when it comes to the part she played in the Galaxy following the events of Return of the Jedi, all we really know is that she was crucial in taking apart the military forces of both the Empire and Rebellion.

As a result, when the First Order later made its presence felt, the Resistance was massively underpowered and Mon's legacy is really one that's made up of a great victory and a huge failure that overshadows it.

According to the site, O'Reilly will first return as the character at some point in The Mandalorian's current third season (a surprise when there are only four episodes left). However, she'll also play a pivotal role in Ahsoka, with a big chunk of that series reportedly devoted to the New Republic's failings, something we saw first-hand in "The Convert" last week.

It's said that Ahsoka Tano's pleas for help against Grand Admiral Thrawn's machinations will fall on deaf ears, especially as Mon no longer has access to a strong military force...by her own doing. Because of that, "the New Republic cannot respond as it tries to contend with governing a Galaxy where piracy is out of control. This will of course culminate in the return of Thrawn."

While the New Republic is a far cry from the Empire, it seems there are just as many issues under their watch, albeit of a different type. A lot of this content was originally going to be covered in Rangers of the New Republic but is now being pulled into these other shows after that was cancelled following Gina Carano's firing.

It's going to be an interesting couple of years for Mon Mothma as we witness both her rise to power and the fall that followed. A fall which ultimately doomed the Galaxy to years of tyranny from the First Order...

A resistance needs something to resist. It's not a security force.
The Empire was an evolution of the senate. It was essentially the same thing. The resistance came from the underground and it had to because the security forces that had been set up by the senate were the same security forces that now protected the Empire.

This ain't on her.

I think we will see a new stage in Thrawn's life.

Separated from the Empire, Grand Admiral Thrawn adopts a new flag. The pirate flag. So Thrawn's fleet led by the flagship Chimera increases while Thrawn recruits privateers, assassins and mercenaries. They "sail" the Outer Rim and attack and plunder new worlds while Thrawn becomes a powerful lord of the criminal Underworld.

@Repian - That’s just basically the Darth Maul plot all over again.

I'm interesting in this...as long as we can maintain that Andor-level writing for these characters. Since Tony Gilroy is only doing 2 seasons of Andor, I am hoping with every fiber of my being that he has been invited to keep working on post-ROTJ content.

Specifically, writing content for Mon Mothma and Thrawn.

Andor gets some heat and I get it...it's not for everyone but it's the perfect type of Star Wars show that belongs on Disney Plus same for Boba Fett. The Mandalorian and Kenobi should have been on the big screen! You could make a very good case that if you build up ahsoka in a Mandalorian movie and she showed up in Boba on Disney Plus she could have carried a big screen movie also.

Disney/Lucasfilm is clueless!
