The first trailer for Ahsoka was released during Star Wars Celebration over the weekend, and it confirmed that the Disney+ The Mandalorian spin-off will feature the live-action debut of Star Wars Rebels baddie Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen).
Now, Deadline is reporting that the cold, calculating Chiss Imperial is going to have a right-hand man in the form of The Expanse alum Wes Chatham.
No further details on Chatham's role were provided, so we have no idea if he'll be a previously established Star Wars character or someone created just for this series.
Spoilers for Wednesday's episode of The Mandalorian follow.
The most recent episode of The Mandalorian gave Thrawn a mention, suggesting that the villain has been MIA for quite a while (no surprise given the events of the Rebels series finale), and has a formidable force awaiting his return.
"He doesn't have the force. He's not a Jedi, he's not a superhero of any kind, but he has the brain. He has all of that in that regard," Mikkelsen said of his character during SWC. "How does he stack up against characters like Ahsoka, Sabine, and all these other people we're going to see and possibly antagonize in the live-action series? I mean, his superpower is his mind, which is really and always like seven paces ahead of everybody. And I'm in that sense also ahead of you as an audience, I think. So that's what you expect."
Ahsoka is set to premiere on Disney+ this August.
