The Mandalorian's latest episode, titled "The Foundling," finally shed some light on who saved Grogu from the Jedi Temple on the night of Order 66, and it was the newly introduced Kelleran Beq.
Played by Ahmed Best, the actor - best known for playing Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars prequels - managed to fend off the invading Clone Troopers at the Jedi Temple before a perilous journey across Coruscant saw the duo escape on what appeared to be a Naboo starship.
The Phantom Menace star first played Kelleran in the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show, and while that's not canon to the wider Star Wars franchise, this is a cool way of making use of an existing character in a way that also gives Best a second chance in this Galaxy Far, Far Away.
Now, Lucasfilm has released a poster (via SFFGazette.com) that puts the spotlight on Kelleran's big debut in The Mandalorian and we're sure you'll agree this is a really striking piece of imagery.
We can't even begin to imagine how Best must be feeling right now, though he seemed incredibly excited in an Instagram post shared shortly after "The Foundling" dropped on Disney+.
Press access is always fairly limited when it comes to The Mandalorian, but we're sure the actor will soon speak out on his Star Wars return given the amount of fanfare surrounding the Jedi Master's role in rescuing Grogu. With any luck, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will also weigh in before too long.
Of course, we don't know where Kelleran and Grogu ended up after that trip through hyperspace, with that likely being a story saved for another day (well, episode).
