THE MANDALORIAN: Hong Kong Disney Inadvertently Reveals Return Of [SPOILER] In Upcoming Season 3

With less than a day to go before The Mandalorian returns, we'd understand if you want to turn away now, but a since-deleted social media post has seemingly confirmed the return of a key fan-favourite...

As is now the norm for The Mandalorian, there has been a very vague marketing campaign for the Disney+ series and a relatively muted press tour in order to keep its biggest secrets under wraps. Critics haven't been sent screeners in advance (a stark contrast to what happened with Andor last year), meaning we'll all get to experience this one at the same time.

That's not a bad thing, of course, particularly as critics are all too often the source of leaks!

This time, however, a major spoiler for the show may have inadvertently been revealed in advance by a now-deleted Facebook post from the official Star Wars page in Hong Kong (via SFFGazette.com).

Hyping up this week's season 3 premiere, the account shared a post that reads (translated from Chinese), "The original team is back. The Mandalorian [Din Djarin] and [Grogu] are about to embark on a new adventure! Plus the bounty hunter [Boba Fett] and other old allies and new enemies!"

This all but confirms Temuera Morrison will return as Boba Fett, though we shouldn't be too shocked.

With Din Djarin and Grogu returning to Tatooine, it's impossible to imagine them not crossing paths with Mos Espa's new Daimyo, while Fett is sure to be among those enlisted to assemble on Mandalore later in the season. We are taking this with a pinch of salt for now, of course, but we're excited to see how Boba factors into this story.

Recently, it was reported that The Book of Boba Fett season 2 is currently in development, so this appearance may well set the stage for that as well.

The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars Galaxy continue in season 3. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the Galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.

The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on March 1.

I feel like everyone expected this. Did anyone really think Mando would go back to Tatooine and they wouldn't show Boba Fett?

@CorndogBurglar - yeah. Tatooine and Mandalore? Boba is a guarantee. Only Cobb Vanth would kinda surprise me, but even not that much.

Makes sense. Wouldn't even be surprised if we get some more Jango Fett Mandalore backstory as well. Can't have that without Boba.

I would’ve asked where was Boba Fett during all this if he wasn’t a part of Mando season 3. So makes sense to have him show up in one or two episodes. Especially now that Mando and Fett are besties meow.

@slickrickdesigns - Ah, I see you lament the disappearance of the "Edit" button as much as I do. *Ahem*:

"Do I look like a cat to you, boy? Am I jumpin’ around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree? Am I drinking milk from a saucer? Do you see me eating mice?"

I just hope we get the Boba Fett from Mando S2 and not the Boba Fett from his own series...

Yeah I don't see the spoiler. Mando in book of Boba fett really felt like it was hinting Boba showing up in season 3. Especially since it's connected so much with mandalore and all these mandalorians are showing up.

I didn't hate Book of Boba Fett but his motivation was weird and there's 2 episodes where he's not even in it.. Just a mess. Season 2 bring back Sam Jackson and have Boba hunt him.

@WowMuchComicBoo - I always had this fanfic in my head of a one arm Mace Windu, bitter with the world, who firmly went to the dark side. But was so powerful that no Sith lord nor Jedi would challenge him

Like an old powerful Force user who had a deranged view on things, kinda like SaW Guerrera

@WowMuchComicBoo - Most people seem to of forgotten this, but think back to when the Book of Boba Fett was first announced - It was supposed to be a contained FOUR episode limited story.
My guess is that the makers of the Mandalorian realised that making a yearly content was no longer going to be possible with key people working on other Disney+ content, so rather than making fans wait two years between content, they just added two episodes to Boba Fett, which in turn totally changed the show and its finale.
I liked the two extra episodes we got, but wish we could of gotten the original four episode story that was most likely better with tighter writing. Adding the Madalorian and Grogu changed everything about the show, even though I understand what they were trying to do.

If you look closely in the trailer you can see what looks like Fett in a couple of the shots.
