Part of the fun of watching The Mandalorian is seeing the episode title come up on screen for the first time. Disney+ tends not to upload those for a couple of days until after each instalment drops on the streaming service to maintain the surprise, and we're sure many of you raised your eyebrows when "The Return" flashed up yesterday.

There are many characters that could have referred to, but in the end, we learn that it's IG-11!

While battling Moff Gideon's Praetorian Guards, Grogu's IG-12 suit is destroyed, bringing a somewhat premature end to his time wearing that. When he and Din Djarin visit their New Republic ally Carson Teva, The Child spots an IG head that the bounty hunter accepts as a down payment for future missions he takes on behalf of his new employers.

There's been some speculation online that it might be IG-88's head, the villainous droid we were first introduced to in The Empire Strikes Back. We can't confirm that right now, but with the missing part they needed, IG-11 is finally restored and becomes Nevarro's new Marshall.

Taika Waititi lends his voice to the restored droid and, with that, The Mandalorian regains one of its most beloved characters.

As you can see below, IG also gets something of a new look as the town's protector, and we're guessing this closes the door on Gina Carano ever making her return as Cara Dune after she was recruited by the New Republic (in reality, the actress ended her Hollywood career after some controversial social media posts).

Regardless, this is a great payoff to the story about restoring the droid which began in the season 3 premiere, and a real fan-pleasing moment in a finale that's full of them.

Are you happy to see IG-11 make his return?

What a lame ending.

We all should be talking about Picard S3

@vectorsigma - why should we be talking about that?

@grif - because it is much better than mandalorian

@vectorsigma - I’m kinda shocked that the first 2 seasons of Picard were lackluster and the first 2 seasons of Mando were amazing yet the shows completely switched places cause this season of Mando was so mediocre and this season of Picard was amazing and basically the Trek I’ve been waiting for since First Contact.

@AnthonyVonGeek - i havent seen an episode of stng and barely remember the movies but i enjoyed s3 very much.

How i wish i can feel the same level of enjoyment and nostalgia like you who did

The only nitpick i guess is how on earth was the jurati borg queen forgotten?

@vectorsigma - it's so trash we don't talk Trek here. It has comic books too and s3 is absolutely incredible
.........and I genuinely have no idea how

@ThorArms - no he's 100 percent on point. S3 of Picard is ridiculously good. It's the best trek in decades. No cap.

@vectorsigma - I heard the first 2 seasons sucked
vectorsigma

@ThorArms - for some reason, events of those seasons are set aside. You can go from nemesis (the movie) to s3 without missing a beat

@McMurdo - this site is tabloid level that some topics that need discussions are left out while headlining nothingburgers.

The way the wrapped up the entire show this season with a bow was kind of lame, ngl.

I really expected another Zeb cameo this episode. Probably my favorite cameo of the season.

The directionless ending....with Din just taking Grogu on a journey...is a little bit of a cop out. No way of knowing where they're headed now.

I loved this episode.

I don't think that was Moff Gideon that died. I think that was one of several clones he has, and that one was responsible for overseeing that batch of Force Sensitives that would be his army. But the Gideon in the Black Armor wasn't the original, he was a clone. The original Moff Gideon still has his mustache.

I don't think this black beskar suited Gideon is dead either, probably melted into his suit and surviving on Mandalore.

But from how personal black Beskar Gideon took the death of the force clones, and the lack of mustache, it makes me think he was a clone too.

There must have been a few clones made before jumping right into force clones. Just a theory.

Small correction: "In reality, the actress ended her Hollywood career after some controversial social media posts."

No, Hollywood ended her Hollywood career by not allowing an actress to speak freely her thoughts (right or wrong) on the narrative they deem acceptable.

@tippymcfoo - Bro, no publicly traded company can have an employee just out there yelling "People getting mad at me because I don't want to wear a mask is the same thing as the Nazis killing 6 million jews.
Vigor

@tippymcfoo - nope. She ended her career. People are allowed to stop liking you if you say something absurd

If the public doesn't like you, you're not good for business. That's how it goes. Now let's stop with this anti-cancel talk. As long as businesses are setup to earn a dollar, they will always err on the side of public favor

Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/21/2023, 7:52 AM
@TheShape9859 - Sorry, you're right. She said private citizens chastising others for not wearing masks is essentially the same things as private citizens beating Jews in Nazi Germany. I regret the error.

@TheShape9859 - Sorry, it's been a few years, and I honestly haven't thought about Carano in about that long. But seriously, I don't hate her, I thought she was great. I saw Haywire in the theater, and I loved her in Deadpool and Mandalorian. Just a shame she kept saying stupid shit.

TheShape9859
TheShape9859 - 4/21/2023, 12:39 PM
@ClintThaHamster - she's allowed to have her opinion. You don't have to agree with it and a person shouldn't be punished for having a different opinion...no matter how outlandish you may think it is. You may disagree with her but plenty people agree with her
Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/21/2023, 1:22 PM
@TheShape9859 - No one said she wasn't allowed to have her opinion. Of course she is. But many employers have social media clauses in their employment contract. Mine does, for example. I can post freely about politics on social media, as long as I don't post the name of my employer on any of my accounts. It's actually fairly common.

Carano was well known to be an employee of Disney, and she was posting election fraud disinfo among many, many other things. They asked her to stop, she refused, she was terminated. The same thing would happen to me. Celebrities, they're just like us!
TheShape9859
TheShape9859 - 4/23/2023, 7:15 AM
@ClintThaHamster - all other Disney employees post whatever they want on social media, trash Trump...whatever they want and they aren't punished. Whoopi and Joy Behar talk so much shit about people and Disney doesn't punish them. BUT Gina voices HER anti-vax, anti-liberal opinions and BAM...Disney punishes her for HER opinion and not the others. THAT isn't right.
Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/23/2023, 9:45 AM
@TheShape9859 - Carano could have posted arguably true things, or matters of opinion, things like "Trump is a good President" or "the CDC has too much authority" or "pharmaceutical companies have too much influence on politics," and she would have been fine. But the things she was posting ("Conservatives in America are treated like Jews in Nazi Germany," "vaccines are actively harmful," "there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election") are both demonstrably false and arguably dangerous. There's a difference between truth and falsehood, regardless of how hard Trump tried to blur that line.
TheShape9859
TheShape9859 - 4/26/2023, 4:51 AM
@ClintThaHamster - I see nothing false there
Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/26/2023, 7:55 AM
@TheShape9859 - Well, yeah, sure, if you're completely detached from reality, then a lot of what Carano said would make sense. Unfortunately, Disney's accountable to shareholders who exist in the real world, not just crackpot conspiracy theorists who blindly lap up whatever bullshit's being pedaled by Tucker Carlson and Matt Walsh and Joe Rogan.
TheShape9859
TheShape9859 - 4/26/2023, 8:32 AM
@ClintThaHamster - damn I wish we had a laugh react here. The bullshit is coming from the liberal media and the biden admin. THOSE are the ones lying
Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/26/2023, 9:46 AM
@TheShape9859 - "The bullshit is coming from the liberal media and the biden admin."

Sometimes, no doubt. But come on, dude, have you not been following the stuff that's been coming out about Fox News? They are ON TAPE admitting that everything they're saying about election fraud is bullshit. They all hate Trump, and are just toeing the company line. They just settled a lawsuit for $735 million dollars to keep anything else from coming out in court.

@ClintThaHamster - I don't watch the news period. Unless it's a riot or some shit like that. Liberals lie and the media lies. I form my own opinion and Carano is spot on
Clintthahamster
Clintthahamster - 4/26/2023, 1:11 PM
@TheShape9859 - But if you're not taking in news, how do you even know if Carano is spot on or not? What are your sources? I form my own opinion, too, but it's got to be based on something, right?

Also, you keep saying "Liberals lie and the media lies," but you seem to be discounting or ignoring the two instances of conservatives lying that I've provided. People in power will obfuscate facts to serve their interests. Media orgs tend to have ideological leanings one way or the other, but there are reliable and unreliable sources on both sides.
