THE MANDALORIAN Star Katee Sackhoff Says There's A Reason Why Axe Woves Was Missing From The Finale

The Mandalorian's season two finale featured Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves, but Axe Woves was M.I.A. Now, actress Katee Sackhoff has teased that there was a good reason for the Mandalorian's absence...

The Mandalorian's season two finale featured one heck of a team-up, with Boba Fett, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Koska Reeves all joining Din Djarin in his quest to rescue Grogu.

However, Mandalorian Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) was nowhere to be seen, which was a surprise considering he was alongside Bo-Katan and Koska when they first appeared in the Disney+ series. Now, though, Katee Sackhoff has teased that there's actually a storyline reason why Woves didn't return.

Talking on the Sith Council podcast, the actress was asked about the Mandalorian's wherabouts, and teased: "He just wasn’t there! He just wasn’t there...and there’s a reason. It’s just one of those things where I don’t know if that story is something I’m supposed to tell. So he’s just not there."

When and where we'll learn the reason for Axe's absence remains to be seen, but we know Bo-Katan is intent on retaking Mandalore, so it's likely he's busy doing something to help further that cause.

With Grogu now in the safe (?) hands of Luke Skywalker, the storyline of The Mandalorian is clearly moving on. Bo-Katan wants the Darksaber which Din won in combat against Moff Gideon, but if she can't best him in battle, then we may already know who the next ruler of Mandalore will be.

Something big is brewing, and The Mandalorian season three can't get here soon enough...

He was busy running around in a suit brainwashing people and tricking Coulson and the gang, you know what he's up to.

“With all the FX in the finale, they had to make some budget cuts. An extra Mandalorian was meaningless.”

I can't tell whether Sackhoff's lips are sealed because of story spoilers for S03, or because the actor himself is in trouble

As much as I loved Clone Wars '08, Rebels left me very indifferent.
I couldn't care less about seeing Rebels characters in live action.
I know this is blasphemy but even Ahsoka doesn't really do anything for me.
After re-watching the show from episode one I really wish they would have spent more time on Mando as a ruthless bounty hunter before getting into the Lone Wolf and Cub stuff.
Still a great show, and I recognize I'm in the minority when it comes to Bo-katan and Ahsoka.
