The Mandalorian's season two finale featured one heck of a team-up, with Boba Fett, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Koska Reeves all joining Din Djarin in his quest to rescue Grogu.
However, Mandalorian Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) was nowhere to be seen, which was a surprise considering he was alongside Bo-Katan and Koska when they first appeared in the Disney+ series. Now, though, Katee Sackhoff has teased that there's actually a storyline reason why Woves didn't return.
Talking on the Sith Council podcast, the actress was asked about the Mandalorian's wherabouts, and teased: "He just wasn’t there! He just wasn’t there...and there’s a reason. It’s just one of those things where I don’t know if that story is something I’m supposed to tell. So he’s just not there."
When and where we'll learn the reason for Axe's absence remains to be seen, but we know Bo-Katan is intent on retaking Mandalore, so it's likely he's busy doing something to help further that cause.
With Grogu now in the safe (?) hands of Luke Skywalker, the storyline of The Mandalorian is clearly moving on. Bo-Katan wants the Darksaber which Din won in combat against Moff Gideon, but if she can't best him in battle, then we may already know who the next ruler of Mandalore will be.
Something big is brewing, and The Mandalorian season three can't get here soon enough...
