THE MANDALORIAN Star Katee Sackhoff Teases The Show's Endgame And Takes Aim At "Drama Queen" Grogu

Ahead of The Mandalorian's return to Disney+ in 2023, star Katee Sackhoff has teased what she knows about the show's endgame and revealed the challenges she's faced working with a difficult co-star: Grogu!

The Mandalorian will return to Disney+ for a third season next year, and with Din Djarin's quest to find a Jedi already over, the focus now looks set to shift to retaking Mandalore. What the long-term goal is for the series is hard to say, though there have been multiple hints it will somehow tie into the Star Wars sequels by revealing more about Emperor Palpatine's resurrection.

Talking at this past weekend's D23 (via SFFGazette.com), Bo-Katan Kryze actress Katee Sackhoff was asked how many seasons The Mandalorian will run for. As you might expect, she was giving nothing away, but has been given an idea!

"You know, I have been told, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that happens," she teased. "The good thing with Dave [Filoni] and Jon [Favreau] is that they’re constantly expanding this world, and I don’t think that Star Wars fans will be lacking for content any time soon."

So, The Mandalorian isn't going anywhere anytime soon. That's music to our ears, but it sounds like there may be trouble is brewing behind the scenes of the show. In a separate interview, Sackhoff would air her grievances with one of her co-stars: Grogu!

"[Grogu's] such a diva," the actress joked. "He's such a diva. He's got five guys that like have to...and some ladies that are constantly following him, making sure that like he's okay, and it's like where's my team? You know like he's just such a drama queen, but he is talented so we put up with it. I know. You have to do it. It's his show. We're all just in it."

Grogu has indeed become the biggest star in the series. At the end of The Mandalorian's second season, it looked like his time in the show had reached its end, though The Book of Boba Fett thankfully reunited him with Din Djarin so that their adventures can continue. Plus, we're sure he's not that difficult to work with.

The Mandalorian season 3 returns to Disney+ sometime in 2023.

@SonOfAGif - hope Din is gonna tame/ride one to show he is the best leader (even if he doesn't want to be one)

I knew that G was a petulant little drama queen. You could see it all over his smug little face.

Probably demands that his M&M's be sorted into different dishes according to color too.

Here to hoping they kill off grogu in very brutal fashion. I hate him with a passion. Main reason I stop watch the babysitter club in Space

@TheMisfit138 - isn't writing him out of the show, like having him find more of his and Yoda's species, enough? Killing seems a tad radical

@TheMisfit138 - the plot of the show revolves around him, he’s not going anywhere

I'm hoping this show is gonna stick to four seasons, with the next two seasons focusing on uniting Mandalore, and a united Mandalore fighting Gideon and his Imperial Remnant respectively.

As for Grogu, I wish they kept him training with Luke longer. Or they should really have a plan for Grogu to develop him into more than the cute baby that every now and then shows his Jefi powers.

@bkmeijer1 - I think the studio switched up their original plans for Grogu after backlash from the new trilogy. Leaving Grogu with Luke only leads the fanbase to believe he was killed by Kylo. So removing him from the whole Jedi order allows the studio to rework Grogu into their side stories without eliminating him completely. I'm just curious as to why Baby Frik of all characters they wanted for Season 3. He was definitely annoying in The Rise of Skywalker.

@SonOfAGif - I understand why they didn't want to keep Grogu away too much from Din (because, like Babu Frik, he also sells toys), I just don't get why they had that arc in Boba Fett's show.

I think it would've made more sense to keep Boba Fett focused on Boba Fett, and have those two episodes kick off Mando's third season instead.
