AHSOKA Adds Natasha Liu Bordizzo As Live-Action Version Of STAR WARS REBELS Fan-Favorite Sabine Wren

We have some exciting news to share with you to end the week, as it's been revealed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Greatest Showman) has joined the cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka as Sabine Wren! Check it out...

Deadline has confirmed that The Society and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny star Natasha Liu Bordizzo is set to play the live-action version of Sabine Wren in Ahsoka. She'll be a lead in the Disney+ series alongside Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano, and we've known for a while that the Star Wars Rebels character would factor into the spinoff.

Tiya Sircaris voiced Sabine in that animated series, though it's not overly surprising that Lucasfilm has decided to cast a younger, up and coming actor for this follow-up.

Hayden Christensen recently joined the cast of Ahsoka (likely for flashback scenes, though we wouldn't be surprised to see him finally show up as Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost), while Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn are also expected to be part of the proceedings. It was previously rumoured that Mena Massoud will play the former, with Lars Mikkelsen reprising his villainous Star Wars Rebels role.

This is a solid bit of casting for one of Lucasfilm's most highly anticipated Star Wars TV shows, and production is expected to begin early next year for a 2023 premiere.

There's an exciting slate of live-action stories coming to Disney+ in the not too distant future, but Ahsoka will likely address a lot of big questions fans have about this Galaxy Far, Far Away. Among the biggest is what happened to Ezra and Thrawn after the Star Wars Rebels finale, and while we expected that story to continue in animation, Dave Filoni clearly has bigger plans in store.

Keep checking back here for the latest on Ahsoka!

I’m guessing Ezra’s casting won’t be confirmed and they’ll treat his return like Luke’s in Mando.

@Ha1frican - Stop that train of thought... Ezra Miller cannot have played Sabine because... he's with WB right not.

Oh shit! Great news, I loved the character in Rebels. I wonder if they’ll ever mention that she just willingly gave up the Darksaber since that’s apparently not a thing anymore lol

Kathleen Kennedy can't get her act together when it comes to the movies

But The Filoniverse is in full swing

Why not just make Dave Filoni the head of Lucasfilm?

See, NOW I believe this scoop, since CBM has posted it and without a reference photo included in the article. Thumbnail gives a pixelated idea... but I'm still unclear what she looks like and will have to look up images myself, like a professional journalist would require of its viewers.
