The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the world’s last remaining Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis [Bean] commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, they fight to protect Lucis.

In addition to the cgi film, an anime prequel, titled Brotherhood, will also be released ahead of the game's September 30th release date. The first episode was made available last night on YouTube, with four more episodes to come.

A prequel anime and a companion cgi film that runs parallel to events in the game? Square Enix appears to be betting big on the success of FFXV.  The company also released a downloadable demo for the PS4 and Xbox One where players control the main character, Noctis, in a dream sequence.  Players who complete the demo will receive a free, exclusive Carbuncle summon that can be used in the game.

I can't wait. I've been stoked for FFXV but with them announcing an accompanying CGI film and an anime series, that just builds the hype up for me even more.

@Ryuk1995 - I'd be okay if DC retconned their current DCEU to make a more comic-accurate series of films animated by Square's film team.

Safe to assume Sean Beans character dies then.

As much as I used to love these games, I never finished one. Not a one. Not even VII. I got to Sinn in X. But once I realized I didn't do enough grinding before I got there I quit. The grind kills it for me.

@WYLEEJAY - Agreed. These games require more grinding than a Vegas stripper. I prefer a Ninja Gaiden type game. Lost Odyssey was great though back in the day.
