New ASSASSIN'S CREED Image Released As Michael Fassbender Explains Why The Movie Isn't Like STAR WARS

After Warcraft disappointed, all eyes are now on Assassin's Creed to be the first truly great video game movie. Everything we've seen from it so far points to that at least being possible, and while it's not a direct adaptation, fans are pleased to see that the title is seemingly doing the franchise justice.

Talking about his roles as both Callum Lynch and Aguilar in the movie, Michael Fassbender tells Empire Online that he views them both as anti-heroes rather than your straightforward good guys. "It's not like Star Wars, where you've got the light side and the dark side. This is very ambiguous morally. Both of these parties – the Templars and the Assassins – are hypocritical at certain points. There are not clear-cut good and bad characters. I think it's a little more provocative for an audience to see that. You know, 'Should I be feeling that? Should I be backing this character?' That's always fun."

Assassin’s Creed also stars Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed, and is currently set to be released on December 21st, 2016. Check out a new image from the movie below.
