THQ Inc. today announced plans to deliver "Marvel Super Hero Squad," the first video game based on the animated series, "The Super Hero Squad Show," scheduled to debut this fall on Cartoon Network. "Marvel Super Hero Squad" will mark the first title in THQ's licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment, Inc., and is currently in development for the Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP. The multiplayer adventure game will feature nonstop action-adventure gameplay and epic battles, as well as a breadth of the new, super-stylized Marvel characters.
"We are thrilled to add 'Marvel Super Hero Squad' to THQ's extensive licensed kids portfolio," said Kevin Kraff, vice president, global brand management, THQ. "Super Hero Squad will feature an animation style that will appeal to a younger audience, but its depth in graphics and gameplay will also engage the more mature, avid fans of the renowned Marvel brand."
"Expanding upon 'The Super Hero Squad Show' brand is a major initiative for Marvel in 2009, and launching the Marvel Super Hero Squad video game is a key component in the brand expansion," said Simon Phillips, president, Worldwide Consumer Products, and CEO, Marvel Animation. "We are confident THQ will bring the renowned Marvel characters to life in a video game that will satisfy the longtime Marvel fans, as well as bring new fans into the fold."

Hmmm...Sounds kinda g@y - but then again the 'Lego' brand of games are kind of cool - so maybe this won't be a complete write-off. THQ makes good games as well so even though this sounds awful - it may prove us all horribly wrong....dead wrong.....
