SEGA® of America, Inc., SEGA® Europe, Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products today announced Alien: Isolation™, a thrilling first-person survival horror experience that will focus on capturing the horror and tension evoked by Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic film. Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is due for release in late 2014 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

On a decommissioned trading station in the fringes of space, fear and panic have gripped the inhabitants. Players find themselves in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph is stalking and killing deep in the shadows. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.

“In Alien: Isolation, we have taken the series back to the roots of Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie, the original survival horror,” said Alistair Hope, Creative Lead at Creative Assembly. “Our Alien is a truly terrifying creature, as intelligent as he is hostile, relentless, brutal and unstoppable. This is the Alien game fans of the series have always wanted.”

“Creative Assembly has created a truly incredible gaming experience, capturing perfectly the very core of what has made the Alien franchise remain relevant after 35 years,” said Jeffrey Godsick, president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products. “This partnership has led to the creation of a game that is simply outstanding and sets the tone for what is to come this year for the 35th anniversary of Alien.”

Alien: Isolation will be available in late 2014 for PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One, PlayStation®3 system, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Throughout 2014, Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products will be honoring the milestone 35th anniversary with a yearlong celebration marking the beginnings of the Alien legacy by releasing commemorative and fan-favorite products.

I don't care what happened in the past dealing with Colonial Marines. As I was a gamer who never played it after seeing the reviews. I saw the gameplay of this and it looks freaking horrifying (in a good way) just watch the gameplay for yourselves you'll see why.

When can they do an Alien game in third person? Anyways, it's still amazing they haven't decided to explore the Alien homeworld.

Lemme guess, Ripley's daughter will be a character with no personality, no development and will not be interesting in anyway with the entire Ripley angle being a marketing ploy?

Here's hoping she has a voice, and she's not just another mute character. FPS tend to get lazy, and don't give characters a personality either. They're just an arm and a gun. This could be good though. Colonial Marines wasn't terrible.

I still want my money back from Colonial Marines. Never laughed so hard in my life though at just how bad it was. Felt like a chore.

They're really going to have to go out their way to win back the fans and the gamers that were scorned by Colonial Marines.

niklander, Saying it as Ripley's daughter doesn't make sense as thats their last name and second Ellen's daughter is trying to find her mother thats how she ends up running into the xeno.

I think this game looks amazing but I don't like how the Alien just walks around aimlessly with out no purpose and you just have to sneak around it if you encounter the alien. Looked really cheesy in that gameplay video.

This shouldn't be 1st person. This should be 3rd person action.

After Colonial Marines, it's hard to get excited for another Aliens game.

The only have fun I had with that game was playing co-op with my friend.

Let's hope this isnt as or more disappointing that Aliens: Colonial Marines.

I'm hoping this game will be a treat to play but for the time being i'm just not excited about it.

Third person isn't scary at all unless its done like the old Resident Evil games.
Game looks promising but make the alien more intelligent then a damn zombie.

This looks like exactly what I actually wanted, and it's already a huge relief that they took the franchise out of Gearboxes hands after the absolute disaster that was Colonial Marines...I'm still salty as hell about that waste of 60 bucks. That being said, from the trailer and interviews it seems like they actually understand the source material and are trying to make something decent out of it, as opposed to using it as an outsourced cash grab to make money to pump into Borderlands 2, *cough* gearbox.

Indeed, Ripley´s daughter lived a long boring life on Earth and died without having kids.

Get another woman.

I think that this is the right direction to go in the Alien franchise when it comes to gaming. A horror genre game seems more fitting than an action game. They are going the Amnesia the Dark Decent route which is cool. Also the graphics look fantastic it looks like you are playing the first movie.
