Portal 2 received 12 nominations leading the pack of potential GOTY (Game of the Year) nominees which also includes Arkham City, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

Both Captain America: Super Soldier, the video game adaptation of Captain America: The First Avenger and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars are nominated in the Best Adapted Video Game category.

Besides the Game Of The Year nod Arkham City is also nominated for:

Best Action/Adventure Game

Best Graphics

The VGA's are the gaming industry's annual award show, honoring the best games of the year. There's usually some exciting new game announcements and trailers during the program. In fact, a brand new Arkham City trailer debuted during last year's show.
