VIDEO GAMES: Kevin Conroy Actually Voiced ARKHAM 4, The Game Coming After ARKHAM: ORIGINS

In keeping with Kevin Conroy's announcement that he'd be voicing Batman in the upcoming Arkham Origins, It appears it was actually AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ARKHAM GAME.

Earlier today, we saw the release of the new Arkham Origins trailer, which was accompanied with the information that Kevin Conroy would be voicing Batman by the man himself.

However it appears that Kevin was actually referring to an entirely different Batman game!

According to his official twitter account set up only hours today Kevin specifies that there was confusion in Dallas in which the announcement for his reprisal of Batman was actually referring to "new Arkham Game".

It appears that we'll be getting two Arkham Games very close to one another.
Fans of the game will (including myself) will probably be rejoicing at the notion. Damn you Batman and your fantastic products making me spend my hard earned money.

Damn you.

Check out the twitter screen grab for confirmation in the following link.
And Rejoice!

I looked up @realkevinconroy on twitter... And I do not see this tweet. Plus the person who reported this doesn't have a link directly to the twitter account. The last tweet was on May 15 about filming Flashpoint at WB. There are only 4 tweets, none of which have Batman in the sentence.

I doubt there they're doing yearly releases like call of duty and the assasins creed games. It's been two years since the last Arkham game, so it makes sense to release another now. Arkham origins is just a filler game hence why it's a prequel. Its just like how Bioshock 2 was filler for Bioshock 3

The new arkham game that Conoroy voiced would have most likely been planned for the current consoles but due to the unplanned annoucement of new next gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft this probably got them to reconsider and make a new game with a different and new engine that is capable of running on next gen consoles and playing to it's hardware strenghts

The developers get told by the companies in advance and before the public when they believe they new consoles will be released. They're also given possible specifications and hardware details. This allows them to build an engine for game which can play to the consoles strenght's e.g. graphics and rendering, which often gets shown at conferences and events.

When they develop games they've got to know what console it's for and whether it will be able to run it. A game built for the ps3 or Xbox 360, wouldn't work on the ps4 or new microsoft console.

The new xbox and playstation have been in devlopment for years. However up until recently they've never been given a release date so current and popular franchises like the Arkham series have to be made for the current consoles which are out at the moment. Moreover develipers wouldn't know the specs beforehand.

Like I said Arkham Origins is a filler game to appease fans and maintain interest before the new game comes out, which is what most prequel games do e.g. Bioshock 2, Halo reach/odst and the new gears of war game etc. If the ps4 and new microsoft console weren't coming out this year and next year and lets say 2016, the Arkham game that Conroy has done voice acting for would have been released this year and been specifically designed for current consoles.

I did think exactly what you've both said initially, However, In the screen grab, Kevin states that the Batman game he has voiced will be arriving soon as opposed to this fall. The date for the release of Arkham Blackgate coincides with the release of Origins, hence the irregularity of the release date coupled with his comment. Furthermore, If Blackgate is said to be set straight after Origins, it would be strange to opt back to the original Arkham actor for a game that immediately follows on. That's just my opinion, so we'll have to wait and see! If I'm wrong, I won't be fussed, if I'm right however, MORE ARKHAM!
