I may be making a mountain out of a molehill, but I need to ask you one question. Did you order the N7 Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3? If you did, congrats. If you didn't, beware. According to recent reports, the Collector's Edition will now be receiving secret DLC in the form of a new squad team member. A Prothean team member. Oh, by the way, have you read up on what the Collector's Edition comes with? Here's a list straight from EA:

-70-page Digital Art book
-Limited Edition Digital Mass Effect Comic by Dark Horse Comics
-Exclusive 4x6 Lithographic print.
-N7 - Arsenal Pack
-Mechdog Companion
-N7 Hoodie

Pardon my blind eyes, but I don't see additional DLC listed there. Me personally, I bought the regular addition because I didn't see the need for any of those things, even though the Mechdog sounds cool. When Mass Effect 2 came out, an additional team member was included for free in every new copy of the game. This team member was Zaeed, a mercenary. He came with a new mission, and his own lines of dialogue in certain places of the game. If the reports are true, I see this as a huge betrayal. I will not be ordering the Collector's Edition for an extra twenty bucks.

What do you think? Are you also hoping that the Prothean team member will be included in the regular copies?

The trailer for the collectors edition mentioned a secret character and mission.

Meh; the secret character will be available for DLC in a couple months or so. They won't resist the cash grab.

@Killersloth - Yea, I was made aware just a few minutes ago. I've decided to make the upgrade myself. However, many many websites haven't included it in their lists still. It's a bit misleading

Wow, man don't get so worked up about it. ME2 had a shitload of DLC, not just Zaeed. Kasumi: Stolen Memory, Project Firewalker, Project Overlord, Lair of the Shadowbroker, the Cerberus Network, and then of course, all of the alternate skins and special weapons.

Me, I'm going to buy it when it comes out. I don't bother pre-ordering anything, and Collector's Editions have ALWAYS been about making more money.

I'm still grumbling about The Old Republic being an MMO (and completely unplayable for me), taking place 500 years after the second KOTOR which had ended with a cliffhanger. Bioware wants your money.

I'm pretty sure Bioware is not to blame. As I've learned in the past (ahem.... Halo: ODST) that is not the developer who sets the prices and distribution but the publisher. If anyone is to blame, it's EA.

I was just pissed that they cut off pre-orders at least a month or two before the game is set to release. Why pay for something when you can get it "free." It's the first time I've ever seen them cut off preorders. I preordered Batman: AC the day before it came out.

I don't understand the point in this...most people have known for months that there was another squad member included in the CE. as Killersloth posted, its been in the trailers for awhile now and a simple Google search would've shown you that too.

And if you still feel "betrayed" the squad member DLC will be available day 1.
