While the Avengers movie, releasing on May 4th, will not a have a video game Tie in, according to TQ Jefferson, vice president of games production for Marvel, a number of avengers related video games are in various phases of production.
Talking to forbes, TQ Jefferson had this to say: " We launched Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook; which is just the tip of the iceberg. This is the first in a much larger effort to support the Avengers franchise across not just one but multiple video game touch points. The Avengers are bigger than just one game, and we’re planning to allow consumers to enjoy The Avengers regardless of their preference in gameplay style or platform. Look for more announcements in the weeks to come."
Jefferson also confirmed to forbes that Sega will no longer publish any Marvel related video games. After the multiple disastrous attempts (Hulk, iron 1 and 2, thor, and Captain America), and after the Marvel buy out to the house of mouse, it is now Disney interactive that will be handling the upcoming video game adaptations of the marvel heroes.
With E3 2012 around the corner one can assume that some avengers related game news will be made. We should also note, that THQ was working on avengers tie in game but was cancelled after the studio handling it was shut down.
