Online gaming is such a major focus for game developers these days that a solid single player campaign just doesn't seem like it's important to them. Well, this eight minute long featurette for Splinter Cell: Blacklist reveals that Ubisoft are definitely prioritising that aspect of this release.

The United States has a military presence in two thirds of the countries around the world. A group of 12 have had enough and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist – a deadly countdown of escalating terrorist attacks on US interests. Sam Fisher is the leader of the newly formed Fourth Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the President of the United States. Sam and his team must hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary, and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on August 20th, 2013.

Just pre ordered an Xbox One directly from my Xbox 360. Wondering if I should've gone with a ps4 instead.

Multiplayer has been a staple of the series since the second game. It's well done IMO. And forget about the mercs! It's all about the spies! :P

It's weird Michael Ironside isn't voicing Sam Fisher. I know it's a much younger take on the character, but still.

@PanochaLibre Lol! I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your conversation with yourself. ;P

Nice! I'll have to hold off on buying the Xbox One for awhile, unfortunately. Right now I'm trying to save up money to move.

@mgeoff88 I really wanted the ps4 but I don't think I'll be able to get more than one system this year. Xbox promised to have it at my door on day one. Good luck with your move!

Meh I lost interest in Splinter cell ever since Conviction. That game was fun but it felt like a Max Payne rip off. I hope they go back to the stealth in this game.

@PanochaLibre I only own a Xbox 360. If I had enough money in the past, I would've bought a PS3 as well, so I could play the Uncharted and Infamous games. I love adventure games.

Oh ok, well, I hope you have a lot fun with the Xbox One. And muchos gracias!
