In an interview with ArabicGamers (via IGN), Splinter Cell: Blacklist art director Scott Lee has revealed that the hit video games franchise will indeed continue on the next generation of consoles such as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. "For next-gen there are a lot of plans in the works," he teased, "obviously we can't talk about that at the moment but I definitely look forward to seeing Sam in new adventures, bigger and better as we go along." He went on to definitively state that "Sam will be back," and reiterated that Splinter Cell is "a big and very important franchise" for Ubisoft. This is hardly surprising, especially after it was recently announced that Eric Singer (The International) will write the screenplay for a big screen adaptation which will star Tom "Bane" Hardy. You can check out the latest trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist below.

Going to be weird not hearing Michael Ironside's voice for Same, but I am glad it was his decision to pass the torch on to someone new instead of being forced.

A movie was supposed to happen a few years back, they even released a teaser with one of the earlier games. It`s actually real.

Holy shit!, If Ubisoft think Splinter Cell is going to save the XBOX One with titles like this being on XBOX One.... Boy are they in for a shock! (and thats coming form a Splinter Cell fan).

Microsoft have royally SHAT THE BED with the XBOX One, and only time will drum into their deluded heads just how badly they have screwed-up.

In short any future game that does not also have an XBOX 360 version as well WILL NOT SELL in the numbers needed for the games to be profitable.
The next-gen XBOX One console will be £500 - the next-gen games will be upwards of £50. No-ones going to go for that and a system that is starting its back-catalogue of games from scratch all over again.

You Absolute [frick]in' idiots Micro$oft!. Way to completely totally throw away your competitive edge when you could of buried the competition!.
