VIDEO GAMES: WB Gaming Announces MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF MORDOR

While we don't have many details or a Release Date yet, we do know that sometime soon, Warner Brothers and Monolith will resurrect Middle-Earth in an all new third-person game, that while in the same universe as Peter Jackson's films, it seems to hardly be connected, according to the plot.

Warner Brother's Samantha Ryan stated about the game: "Players will explore the dark and very personal theme of vengeance in a world where decisions have a consequence, and those consequences persist even after death... The game introduces new gameplay mechanics to the action genre, creating opportunities for emergent and customized gameplay that will be rewarding for players."

An interesting thing in the game is "The Nemesis System." Warner Brother's Press Release stated: "Through the Nemesis System, enemy relationships and characteristics are shaped by player actions and decisions to create personal archenemies that remember and adapt to the player and are distinct to every gameplay session. Gamers are able to craft their own battles, enemies and rewards within the dynamic world that remembers and adapts to their choices, delivering a unique experience to every player."

Shadow of Mordor casts you as a ranger whose family was slain by Sauron's armies. Having been killed himself, he's resurrected with "Wraith abilities", and is ready to take on the hordes of Mordor.

Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor is in development for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, with the possibility of more to come.

Stay tuned for more details as they surface.

One does not simply "take on" the hordes of Mordor. Not with ten thousand wraith abilities could you do this. It is folly.

Nemesis system? Sounds like something thrown in to make it seem original, or different.

This had me interested...until I saw what the story will be. Again, much like The Third Age, Online, and War of the North, it doesn't sound so much like an interactive world of Middle-Earth, so much as a generic game world with a Middle-Earth skin to sell more copies.

For example, Rangers don't get resurrected as Wraiths. THAT'S STUPID!
