Keke Palmer has responded to being fan-cast as Rogue on social media, and it looks like the highly in-demand Nope star would be more than happy to suit-up as the fan-favorite Southern Belle...

Keke Palmer was already a best-selling recording artist prior to landing the co-lead role in Jordan Peele's Nope, but her infectious, standout performance as Emerald in the recent sci-fi flick put her on the map in a big way.

It probably won't be too long before the superhero movie offers come flooding in (if they haven't already), but it looks like Palmer has set her sights on a somewhat surprising character.

A TikToker (is that a thing?) shared a video explaining why he feels Palmer would be a perfect pick to play Rogue (as opposed to the heroes she's usually fan-cast as, such as Storm) in the upcoming Marvel Studios X-Men reboot. He certainly makes a compelling case, and Keke clearly agrees.

The actress shared the following Tweet in response.

We're sure to see plenty of fan-art over the next week or so, but we'll start you off with this concept from @Irose_art.

Of course, Marvel Studios hasn't even begun to cast this elusive X-Men movie yet and is unlikely to do so for quite some time. In fact, a recent rumor claimed that contractual issues are preventing Kevin Feige and co. from introducing new actors as established mutant characters such as Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, etc to The MCU, and they may not be able to move forward with a reboot until 2025.

That remains to be seen, but don't hold your breath for updates on this one until 2023 at the earliest. What do you guys think? Could you see Keke Palmer suiting-up as Rogue? Drop us a comment down below.

That’s some great concept art and she has the energy and charisma to pull Rogue off.
dracula - 9/16/2022, 9:19 AM

MutantEquality - 9/16/2022, 9:21 AM
Will she have a southern accent?
MarkCassidy - 9/16/2022, 9:23 AM
@MutantEquality - She'd have to.
Xmen4theWin - 9/16/2022, 10:00 AM
@RorMachine - just by how anybody can be anybody I wouldn’t be so sure.
Nightwing1015 - 9/16/2022, 1:39 PM
Why would she have to have a southern accent?
MitcHendricks - 9/16/2022, 9:23 AM
How about no more racist tokenization.
thewanderer - 9/16/2022, 9:42 AM
@MitcHendricks - what about Rogue requires her to have a certain skin color?
Blastaar - 9/16/2022, 9:56 AM
@thewanderer - Absolutely NOTHING....
Gambit on the other hand YES. He NEEDS to be CAJUN...Not Creole.....And Cajuns are primarily of European decent(French).
Xmen4theWin - 9/16/2022, 10:01 AM
@thewanderer - is it. It ok for movie characters to look like what they are based on?
thewanderer - 9/16/2022, 10:05 AM
@Xmen4theWin - What's important for movies to capture the essence of the character. Some character's have their race and ethnicity tied into their essence of the character. Others do not. Nothing about the essence of the Rogue character requires her to be any specific race other than one that you would commonly find in the state of Mississippi.
Xmen4theWin - 9/16/2022, 10:26 AM
@thewanderer - x-men is race diversified already. That’s so different people can relate to different characters. If you change their race, the people that related to them can no longer relate to them.

So it is important. White, Asian, black, Native American and so on see themselves in different characters and it matters when they change it.
thewanderer - 9/16/2022, 10:40 AM
@Xmen4theWin - Do you really think southern white women are under-represented in movies and tv?
marvel72 - 9/16/2022, 11:36 AM
@MitcHendricks - There is plenty of black mutants.

Storm
Bishop
Darwin
M
Prodigy

To name a few off the top of my head, absolutely no need to race swap just put them on the team.
Origame - 9/16/2022, 11:52 AM
@thewanderer - ...the fact that's how she traditionally looked in the comics. I really don't get why we've abandoned the idea of getting people who look like the character as something optional and not all that important.

There are black x men. How's about casting her as one of those?
