RUMOR: The X-MEN Finally Returning To The Animated Realm With A New TV Series
An argument could be made that the X-Men have fared better on the small screen in animated TV shows than in their live-action films, so you'll be glad to know that the mutants could soon return to that realm.
Animated TV shows for Spider-Man and Big Hero 6 are on the way in 2017, but according to Bleeding Cool, a show featuring the X-Men is now in the works. Details beyond that are scarce, but they do say that an announcement is going to hit some point this year. With any luck, this will be a little more mature than the recent Disney XD efforts which have clearly been aimed at a much younger audience.
We already know from X-Men and X-Men: Evolution that there's a huge amount of potential for these characters in this format, especially as what's happening in the movies is such a massive clusterf**k.
This marks a big change in the relationship between Marvel Entertainment and Fox, something which has been evident for a while now thanks to TV shows like Legion and Matt Nix's untitled family drama, not to mention a sudden resurgence of X-Men merchandise. What form this series will take is unclear, but here's hoping it's something good. Oh, and that Cyclops doesn't get the short end of the stick!
