Jones is best known for playing Betty Draper in 60s set tv show Mad Men. She will next play Emma Frost in 60s set First Class!..

“When I heard that this installment of ‘X-Men’ was gonna take place in the ’60s I was like, ‘Oh my God, you must be kidding me! But I read the script and familiarized myself with the character of Emma Frost. She’s so, so far from Betty and from ‘Mad Men,’ and it takes place in that time but it doesn’t feel like a period movie.”

Emma Frost is notorious among comic fans for wearing very little and being a stone cold hottie. Was Jones nervous about living up to this image?

”The costumes are insane. It’s a lot of very body-conscious stuff. If you look at the comic book, she’s barely dressed. She’s got quite the bod, which is very intimidating.”

Jones says that although she stayed in shape for the role, she didn't want to lose any of Frost's trademark curves. She also reveals that in the film Frost will have both her telepathy and her diamond morphing ability..

“I don’t have to do all the crazy prosthetics, When I morph into my diamond form, it’s all done on computer.

Finally Jones comments on the expectations of the fans of the characters from the Marvel comics and probably without realizing hits the nail on the head about how we view these adaptations..

“Fans of the X-Men comics have a very set idea of these characters in their heads, I wanted to know as much as I could about her so I wasn’t disappointing anyone. I’m sure I will still disappoint someone.”

So true. But Jones certainly seems to have done her research. Click the link back to La Times Hero Complex for the full interview in which she goes into more detail about her take on the character.

Quietly anticipating this film.
The more people bash it, the more I can't wait to see if they're right or wrong.

@magic8

Have you even seen her on Mad Men? She's perfect as Betty Draper, there's a reason she was been nominated twice for a Golden Globe and once for an Emmy.

She'll be perfect as Frost.

@magic

uh yea because Jamie Pressly owned during the entire duration of My Name Is Earl.

@kidzombie

Emma isn't romantically involved with either Professor X nor Magneto in this movie. That's already been debunked as being false.

I've come to accept that there's no point in trying to make sense of this movie, and in a year when movies like Thor and Captain America are coming out before and after this, it's hard to care about it any more. I still look forward to one day seeing a proper X-Men movie, but for now: [frick] FOX. :P

It will be good to see January Jones dressed like the Emma Frost in that picture above though!

This has EPIC FAIL, written all over it, I just cant get passed the new Xmen continuity that fox has created, it's just stupid. I can imagine seeing the Fox execs, sitting there going lets do a Professor X and Magneto movie but when they where younger, then some young guy who knows a little bit about the xmen saying , well there were not a whole lot of other characters around then, and Fox exec saying that ok who can we throw in there that we havent used yet , the kid saying well we could do this rifles off a bunch of names, EXECs great do it, then some says hey did nt we have her in Orgins ,Exec so that was a entirely different movie. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

totallycracked@ According to the film synopsis, the point where Wolverine is living with Kayla in Canada is six years after the Vietnam War, which ended in 1975. That's when Stryker approaches Wolverine about having the surgery. So...the movie continuity is out of whack.

Jones' legs do look awful scrawny.

I think Ceghead would have made a great Emma Frost myself;)

That outfit looks stupid, I get that it's a bit of a period piece but she looks like a 60's Bond Girl. Weak choice IMO.

AND to the people that say she's hot...she's atractive yes...hot no...not even close. Nothing special or hot about her. She's a very attractive girl but nothing you wouldn't see in a decent nightclub. Definitely not even close to being hot enough to be Emma Frost. Comic Book Gal's are always a certain look and figure and she doesn't have either.
