Latest X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Production Still Spotlights The Lair Of En Sabah Nur

Bryan Singer has posted another behind-the-scenes X-Men: Apocalypse image, and this time we get a new glimpse of the incredibly detailed practical set that will, presumably, double for the Egyptian tomb of Oscar Isaac's titular villain. Take a look...

It's apparent that Singer won't be over-relying on CGI environments for X-Men: Apocalypse, as this latest Instagram pic of a huge statue of the Egyptian God of the desert, Set, confirms. We know En Sabah Nur hails from Egypt, so it's assumed these sets will be used for his origin story, or perhaps somewhere he returns to over the course of the film.

He's been known as many Gods before and this statue reflects that. I also wonder if it was built that high to represent his shape shifting capabilities.

Man the intense hatred for that Apocalypse design. How come no one gets that angry when other equally as important character attributes aren't presented in film adaptations?

I know Ultron wasn't too positively received, but the change of that character both in facial design and "personality" was as drastic an alteration as this appearance. And while there are unfavorable comments, I see nothing to the level of "[frick] FOX. BRYAN SINGER IS THE WORST DIRECTOR OF ALL TIME. [frick] THIS MOVIE".

It's strange because, aside from the design, Singer's Apocalypse comes straight out of a comic book. His egyptian roots, ideology, and four horsemen are all there.

I'm not saying that the design is forgivable or that it's even good (I'm still so so on it and am waiting for the film), I'm just saying people look at this stuff so strangely. The best example might be Ronan, who James Gunn completely altered in everything BUT the design. How come that didn't see as much vehement hatred as this?

I've liked all the X-Men movies since First Class, so I expect this to be pretty damn good.

@thewonderer

Because Singer is successfully keeping Da Rights out of Marvel's hands.

In 2000 who thought this franchise would be 8 movies in and still going strong 16 years later.

LOL @ Singer trying to replicate the #notallgreenscreen hype that JJ and Star Wars: The Force Awakens has promoted [to their great effect]. Give it up Singer... you're not even in the same league. Singer can't even come up with original PR that isn't pinched off another film's campaign.

I wish Apocalypse looked more like his comic counterpart but i've enjoyed these films so far so its not a dealbreaker

@ManCalledSting;

My point is that he is specifically pushing '#notallgreenscreen' because he is just copying JJ's 'The Force Awaken's' PR with all their physical sets and models promotion [after the CGI mess that was Lucas's prequels].
