CHAPTER 10:
DAYS OF FUTURE FOX

Let's be honest, FOX has had some highs and lows with their Marvel films. From highs like Days of Future Past, to lows like Elektra. In fact, some of FOX's lows were so low, that if you heard that they were making a Deadpool and an Apocaylpse film back when Origins came out, there would have been riots in the street.

And yet, despite the critical panning of Fant4stic, people are still exited for most of the FOX/Marvel lineup. So here's what's in store for us...

DEADPOOL (2016)

WHAT WE KNOW: The film is directed by visual effects artist, Tim Miller, in his first directorial debeut, and the film will be written by the writers of Zombieland. Ryan Reynolds is set to play the role, and the films takes place in the X Universe, which was confirmed when Colossus showed up. Also, his actor, Daniel Cudmore, declined returning. So he will now be performed (physically at least) by stuntman, Andre Tricoteux.
WHAT I THINK: This film is one of the most hilghy anticipated films of next year, and it's not hard to see why. The trailers look phenomenal. Reynolds is going to kill it. The only thing I'm worried about is the Colossus redesign. He looks a bit flabby for someone whose power is strength. He's taking that steel thing for granted. But that's just a design. This movie will kick ass and I hope it's successful enough to inspire more R-rated superhero films.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (2016)

WHAT WE KNOW: Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg are returning to write and direct. All those who survived First Class, as well as Evan Peters, are returning. Younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Angel (kinda) will be introduced. Oscar Issac, Olivia Munn, and Lana Condor have joined the cast as Apocalypse, Psylocke, and Jubilee. Caliban and the Blob are set to appear, but have not been cast.
WHAT I THINK: My most anticipated movie of the year. More than Deadpool. More than BvS. More than Civil War. I'm excited to see how the new timeline goes. I hope for them to finally Cyclops right. I'm glad to see Evan Peters return. A recent Apocalypse redesign was leaked and it looks badass! I'm excited for everything. I think this movie will be awesome.

GAMBIT (2016)

WHAT WE KNOW: Channing Tatum, who was supposed to play the character in X3, will play Gambit. He was supposed to be in Apocalypse, but Tatum is so big a Gambit fan, that he decided to produce a Gambit movie. Bella Donna is set appear and will most likely be played by Léa Seydoux. A casting call sheet has been released. Rupert Wyatt was set to direct, but just yesterday, he left.
WHAT I THINK: I think this has the potential to be something cool. Nothing like Deadpool, but something good. I have mixed feelings about Rupert Wyatt leaving. On one hand, he directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was great. On the other hand, I'm a bit glad he left because he directed the worst movie I saw last year (The Gambler). Anyway, I hope Channing pulls off a decent accent, and I hope this is good enough to make me want to see more Gambit in the future.

 WOLVERINE (2017)

WHAT WE KNOW: This will be Hugh Jackman's final go as Wolverine. James Mangold, who directed The Wolverine, is back to direct the movie. Patrick Stewart is returning as Professor X Also, there are rumours that Sabretooth will appear and that the film will be based off of the Old Man Logan storyline.
WHAT I THINK: It's sad that Hugh Jackman is ending his amazing run as The Wolverine. But I'm hoping that this movie is him pretty much him going out with a bang. A couple things that would make this thing even cooler would be...
X-23 appearing. I hope Rogue, who had a great relationship with Logan in previous films, can appear (and become a badass). And finally, with the release of Deadpool, we should finally get that R-rated Wolverine films. I'm probably only getting one of these, but I hope this is great anyway.

FANT2STIC (2017)

WHAT WE KNOW: It's being made, and you have to deal with it. Hopefully, this will have a smoother production.
WHAT I THINK: When I started making these, I was going to put that this was never happening, but I'm wrong now. Anyway, a problem I had with Fant4stic was that it felt like franchise set-up. So I hope that "no chemistry, let's just do the origin and make a cool movie next time" thing pays off. Now, I'm giving FOX the benifit of the doubt, and hope that they will get someone who knows what they're doing and knows how to write and direct blockbusters. But the reason I'm letting this slide is because I really like the main four actors as actorsand I hope to see them shine has the Four. (Unless FOX pulls an "Amazing Spider-Man 3").

X-FORCE (????)

WHAT WE KNOW: Jeff Wadlow is set to write and direct. And we haven't heard anything since.
WHAT I THINK: Deadpool better be in it. Get Ryan Reynolds, the team behind the film, and the guy who played Colossus in, and that will bring in audiences. Oh yeah, and bring in Cable. And X-23. And Domino.

NEW MUTANTS (????)

WHAT WE KNOW: FOX has boldy gotten Josh Boone to direct the movie, and according to him, the script is coming along nicely.
WHAT I THINK: I have mixed feelings. Mainly because of the director. FOX has gotten directors with no blockbuster work to direct their Marvel films, but that has so far only worked out with Bryan Singer. But since New Mutants is a team of teen mutants, and Josh Boone is known for making a pretty good teen film, I hope he does a good job. Just include Magik.

DEADPOOL 2 (????)

WHAT WE KNOW: Cable may appear.
WHAT I THINK: IT'S GONNA KICK ASS!

KINGSMAN 2 (????)

WHAT WE KNOW: Vaughn has confirmed that he's writing a sequel and he may even direct it.
WHAT I THINK: I can't say because I haven't seen Kingsman yet. I've only seen the ending and that's because it has the greatest ending shot (pictured above) of all time. I'll say I'm exited if I get to see more of Hannah Alstrom's butt.

And that's it for The History of FOX/Marvel. I hope you enjoyed these. I will bring this back after the release of Deadpool, Apocalypse, and Gambit. But I may wait a bit longer after they come out so I can get all the facts. Now if you excuse me, I deserve a break.

Fant4stic 2 is not happening. All this talk about a sequel is all Studio PR for when the film is still in theaters and has to be released on hv. Fox would be insane to finance a sequel. A Reboot(while highly unlikely), would be the better option of the 2, but even then, not really.

This has happened with Green Lantern 2 as well.

I think the Deadpool sequel will end up being the X-Force movie.

Also, watch Kingsman, it's awesome.

I doubt we'll see Fantastic 4 2, but we will see Fantastic 4igins: Dr Doom. It maintains the rights and can be made on a considerably smaller budget.

@SteveRogers9

The diffrent between the Green Lantern 2 and Fan4stic 2 is that unless Fox make a new Fantastic Four movie (reboot or sequel) Marvel will get the rights back, which is something that they probably do not want.

It will be a big bright future when the FF goes back to Marvel .

Sorry for the late reply, but I don't believe for a second any investor would allow the greenlit of a sequel to a bomb happen simply to prevent a rivaling studio from becoming bigger, despite them already making billions. Fox is accomplishing nothing from playing keep away with Marvel with the FF other than losing millions, driving away audiences, and angering hardcore fans.

@SteveRogers9

I am sorry myself for the late reply, but i haven't have time to bee on this site for a while

No, i agree that a sequel make's no sense, do to how hated it is. I am more certain that we will get another reboot down the line from Fox instead of Marvel.

Why? Becuase it is very well aware about all the bad blood between them, from when they did not accept the "Galactus and Silver Surfer, for extention of Daredevil" problem to the Mutant X lawsuit and the particular Punnisher comic, that came out last year. You know, the one that killed of every starmember besides Michael B Jordan? Sony on the other hand, has allways had good relationship with Marvel.

And unlike Sony, Fox are not close to bankrupcy. They are in strong a finacial state.

The only other way that Fox could ever concider to give away the rights, is if they got the TV rights to X-men in exchange. They could care less about ous hardcore fans since we are in a miniorty. The majority of moviegoers does not know who that owns what. Heck, i have still people asking me why Batman and Superman has not joined the Avengers yet (And before you ask, no i am not kidding)

Sorry for the later answer. When i answered @SteveRogers9 i was in a hurry when i did, and my english is not the best.

I was just trying to point out why Fantastic Four 4 will be rebooted by Fox, and that they will never do a Sony deal about it, but forgot the half i needed to write.

I wrote about it in more detail here http://the-move-maister.blogspot.se/2015/08/why-failure-of-fantastic-four-is-not.html
