X-Men: Odessa A'Zion Breaks Silence On Rumors She's Playing The MCU's Rogue

As rumours swirl that Hellraiser star Odessa A'Zion is in the mix to play Rogue in the upcoming X-Men reboot, the actress has finally broken her silence on the claims about her supposed MCU future.

While Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny is the apparent frontrunner to play Rogue in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, Marty Supreme star Odessa A'Zion remains a firm fan favourite to play the MCU's Anna Marie.

The 26-year-old's star is on the rise, and there's no denying that she'd be a good fit for the role. Now, after months of rumours, A'Zion has broken her silence on the possibility of suiting up as Rogue.

Asked in the video below whether she's set to join the X-Men franchise, the actress replied, "I don’t know if I can answer that question. I don’t know. I genuinely have no idea." That's an odd response for someone who, as of now, has no official involvement with the movie.

Of course, it may be just poor wording on A'Zion's part, with her meaning she's completely in the dark about any X-Men movie rumours. We'll have to wait and see, though an official cast announcement is still expected during this Friday's D23 event in Anaheim.

A'zion began working professionally as a child before landing breakout roles in television, including Fam and Netflix's Grand Army. She has since appeared in movies including the 2022 Hellraiser reboot, Fresh Kills, Until Dawn, and the acclaimed Marty Supreme

Rogue, whose real name is Anna Marie, is one of the X-Men's most iconic members. A mutant with the ability to absorb another person's memories, abilities, and powers through physical contact, Rogue initially struggled to control her dangerous gift. After spending time as a member of Mystique's Brotherhood of Mutants, she eventually found redemption with the X-Men and became a key member of the team.

The cast of the X-Men reboot currently features Kit Connor as Scott Summers, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. Adam Driver is reportedly playing the movie's villain, and while the Magneto rumours have been debunked, it seems he's either Mister Sinister or Sebastian Shaw.

Christopher Abbott, Tom Pelphrey, Bill Skarsgård, Will Poulter, and Harris Dickinson are reportedly in the running for Professor X. Spaeny, meanwhile, still seems likely for Rogue, with Charles Melton repeatedly mentioned as a favourite for Beast.

Looking ahead to X-Men, Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Sadie Sink said, "I think it was such a smart choice, too, to start young and have this younger generation of mutants. It’s a cool take on it, but as it starts to assemble and everything, I’m really excited about having a group of people to feel like you’re on a team with."

X-Men is currently expected to be released in theaters in 2028.

@Bucky74 - when I see the pics of Odessa off screen, it makes me think they want to have a goth take in Rogue like in Evolution. But I just want a classic 90's comic Rogue!

More atrocious casting from Disney. They just can't help themselves anymore. Mistake after mistake.

Reboot the MCU and DCU

@FireGunn - Can I ask, what makes it atrocious? And when you say "more", who oelse do you think has been poorly cast? Honest cuestions. I'm not trolling.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/12/2026, 12:53 PM
@Patient2670 - She looks absolutely nothing like Rogue and she was extremely overrated in Marty Supreme. Rogue isn't jewish.

@hue66 - All great
Patient2670
Patient2670 - 8/12/2026, 1:25 PM
@FireGunn - What does being Jewish have to do with anything? That's not a visible physical trait. And I'd be willing to bet that Rogue's faith is not something they'd make too big of a meal of in the movie anyway. Her resemblance to the character is nothing that hair color and wardrobe can't fix.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/12/2026, 1:30 PM
@Patient2670 - Jews absolutely do have observable physical specific traits. To say otherwise is disingenuous nonsense. Rogue is a southern white Christian woman. She's not jewish and this woman looks nothing like her, even if they change her hair/makeup. Sophie Thatcher or Margaret Qualley are the obvious Rogue choices.
Patient2670
Patient2670 - 8/12/2026, 1:49 PM
@FireGunn - There's no such thing as an observable visible religious trait (other than maybe tattoos or, jewelry or religious garb). People carry physical traits based on regional heratige. If you had said Rogue isn't middle eastern or asian, then maybe. But jewish? nope. Sophite Thatcher is Morman, Margaret Qualley is not Baptist either... Still obvious choices?
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/12/2026, 1:53 PM
@Patient2670 - So you're taking the disingenuous route as expected. Judaism is more than a religion. It's an ethnicity. Rogue is not an Ashkenazi Jew. She's not middle eastern or Asian either. She is a white, Christian, Southern woman. Sophie Thatcher and Margaret Qualley fit that description more than Odessa A'zion. They also look 1000x more like Rogue than her.
bobevanz
bobevanz - 8/12/2026, 3:00 PM
@FireGunn - all you had to say was she doesn't look like rogue. You don't have to go on this huge tirade about the great replacement Theory or whatever bullshit you drone on about
Patient2670
Patient2670 - 8/12/2026, 4:39 PM
@FireGunn - And you're just incorrect. Judaism is a religion. Israeli is an example of ethnicity. The faith is closely tied to the ancestry and culture, but not the DNA. It's no more an ethnicity than Catholicism. By the way, Odessa A'Zion is white. The other stuff, she can act. Nothing dingenuous about it. The others may better fit your image of the character, but maybe they passed on the role. Sorry pal, just admit it's because you don't find her attractive and move on.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/12/2026, 8:55 PM
@bobevanz - No one mentioned the great replacement you [frick]ing retard
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/12/2026, 8:59 PM
@Patient2670 - Wow you're actually stupid. You're confidently incorrect. It takes 5 seconds to prove yourself wrong ([frick]ing google exists) or better yet talk to any jew. Have you ever heard of "secular non practicing jews"? Why does that exist moron? If Judaism is only a religion, how are there any non practicing jews? Ashkenazi Jews, which she is, is an ethno group.

She can not act. I've seen her in Marty Supreme and she was grossly overrated.

"Sorry pal, just admit it's because you don't find her attractive and move on."

Nice projection lmao. I literally said she was attractive in another comment under this article.
SpiderParker
SpiderParker - 8/12/2026, 9:58 PM
@FireGunn - Man, do you wake up every day and think to yourself, "How stupid can I be today?"

Being Jewish isn't a physical trait that's distinguishable on screen. Like Google is a thing. Try to use it. I prefer Qualley, but to talk trash about someone based on their heritage... you keep outdoing yourself. Not in a good way.
Patient2670
Patient2670 - 8/12/2026, 10:44 PM
@FireGunn - And there you go with the name calling. The reluctant surrender of one who knows they've lost. PS, a secular non practicing Jew is someone who identifies as jewish, based on the culture in which they were raised. It exists because some people were raised in families among the jewish faith, but don't themselves practice it. I, myself, am a non practicing Catholic. It isn't that difficult a concept. Ashkenazi Jews are simply a sect of the Jewish faith from central and eastern Europe. Again, not that difficult.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/13/2026, 12:13 AM
@SpiderParker - Another retard to comment under my comment. Google is a thing, and you can find the many physical differences that Ashkenazi Jews have. I'm not here to do your homework. Go do it yourself.

I didn't trash talk her for her appearance. In fact, I didn't trash talk her at all. I said she's quite attractive actually. But she looks nothing like Rogue and Rogue isn't Jewish.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/13/2026, 12:14 AM
@Patient2670 - Catholicism isn't an Ethnic religion. You're low iq.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/13/2026, 12:19 AM
@Patient2670 - This took me 5 seconds.

Question: "Is Judaism only a religion"

Answer: It is an ethno-religious group and a peoplehood. This means Jewish identity combines a shared history, culture, ancestry, and nationhood with the religious traditions of Judaism. A person can be completely secular, meaning they do not believe in God or practice any religious rituals, and still be fully Jewish.

You being a lasped catholic isn't even remotely the same as a non practicing jew. Jewishness isn't exclusively about religious practice. Catholicism is.
Patient2670
Patient2670 - 8/13/2026, 12:21 PM
@FireGunn - Again with the insults? I'm sorry that I so clearly triggered you.

And yet, nowhere in the little blurb that you copy pasted from AI, does it state anything about physicality or physical atributes associated. In this case Ancestry means that their ancestors had those beliefs. The beliefs and customs are what get passed down - that's tradition, not heredity. Therefore, being jewish - or any other religion- can be considered a cultural ethnicity, but not a physical ethnicity such as caucasian, black, latinx, asian, etc. For example, Sammy Davis jr. Lenny Kravitz and Daveed Diggs are all Jews. As are Steven Spielberg, Albert einstein and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. How are they all physically similar? What is the one attribute that they do actually share?

Being secular simply means non practicing, being a secular Jew, means that they are a non practicing or non believing member of a jewish family. That's the connection I made to my being a non practicing or secular Catholic.

The problem is that you ONLY took 5 seconds to look. Google AI gave you a summary that you misinterpreted and confidently claim it as complete fact. Yet you seem to have taken exactly zero seconds to comprehend the words you rotely repeated.
