X-Men Rumor Reveals Comic-Accurate Link Between Mister Sinister And [Spoiler] In The MCU

Star Wars actor Adam Driver will play "Nathaniel Milbury" in Marvel Studios' untitled X-Men reboot. However, the decision to announce Mister Sinister with that particular alias has led to a lot of compelling fan theories

In the comics, Sinister is closely tied to Cyclops, largely because he views the Summers bloodline as the key to engineering the ultimate mutant. The villain monitored the young Scott throughout his childhood and, into Cyclops' adulthood, remains obsessed with the hero.

That's something many fans are hoping will be explored in the MCU, especially when Cyclops was frequently treated as an afterthought in 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies.

Well, insider Daniel Richtman is reporting that Mister Sinister will be linked to Cyclops in Marvel Studios' X-Men. He doesn't share any additional insights, but this sounds like a step in the right direction for Scott on screen.

In other news, X-Men: Apocalypse Star Lana Condor has revealed that she's discussed potentially reprising the role of Jubilee with Marvel Studios. It's unclear whether there was any interest from Kevin Feige and Jake Schreier, but the Coyote vs. ACME star sounds eager to return.

"I would love nothing more than to come back as Jubilation Lee," she told The Direct. "That's all I've been hearing, but no real conversations. I've talked to the filmmakers and been like, 'Hey, listen, I'm 10 years older now. I know more. Bring me back.' So we'll see."

While we wouldn't discount seeing Condor as a Jubilee Variant before the Multiverse Saga ends, it seems far more likely that Marvel Studios would cast a teenager if the plan is to include her in the MCU post-Avengers: Secret Wars.

Back to Cyclops, Empire Magazine caught up with original Scott Summers, James Marsden, to discuss his MCU debut in Avengers: Doomsday

"It’s an absolute collision of 3 gigantic universes, coming together in the face of a very serious existential threat," the Sonic the Hedgehog star teased. "You’re seeing time on screen. You’re seeing these characters from 27 years ago."

Directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*), the untitled X-Men movie stars Kit Connor (Heartstopper) as Scott Summers, Sadie Sink (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott (Catch-22) as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette (Obsession) as Rogue, and Maya Boyd (& Juliet) as Storm.

Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) also stars as Emma Frost, alongside Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), who plays Nathaniel Milbury, an alias of Mister Sinister in the comics.

X-Men will be released exclusively in theaters May 5, 2028.
